I do maintenance of a complex docket systems to track the myriad of legal filing deadlines; create spreadsheets; indexes and update pleadings, complaints, summonses and discovery binders; schedule depositions, site inspections, transcribe deposition summaries, schedule, convene and arrange appointments, hearings, closings and meetings. Moreover, I draft correspondence and routine legal documents such as deposition notices and legal invoices. Additionally, I assist with legal research and communicate with attorneys, experts, opposing counsels, vendors and other staff personnel. In addition, I fax, file, sort and distribute legal documents and paperwork, answer and transfer telephone calls, and collect information for attorneys such as addresses, telephone numbers, social security numbers, and other information needed for court cases. I have familiarity with legal terminology, knowledge of federal, state and local county court filing rules, basic legal procedure and law office protocol. In addition to excellent typing and dictation skills, I demonstrate to be extremely deadline-oriented since missing a filing deadline can result in a default judgment (automatically losing a case). I have knowledge and experience with office and legal processes as they become more automated (updated). I possess excellent computer skills and proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, legal research, presentation and time and billing software. I also do maintenance of filing system and is required to maintain everything going on in the office to determine that attorneys can easily perform their jobs and have everything they need available for them.
