FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No, I don't. I normally charge $70.00 per hour, but I am willing to adjust the price based on the duration of the engagement, the number of other consultants working with me, and the needs of the client. I never charge the client more than 32 hours per week no matter how many hours I actually work on the project. I usually spend 50 hrs/wk on a customer's project. I am willing to work after hours and on weekends if that is what the client wants. I normally offer my education workshops on Saturdays as not to interfere with the regular workload during the week.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Interview the top decision maker to find out exactly what the problem, issue or request is all about. 2. Explain in detail what is the proper approach to deal with the prospect's problem, issue or request. 3. Offer examples, case studies, and even a workshop (free of charge) to explain what the proposed solution is all about and how to embark on this project together. 4. Ask permission to write a full proposal. 5. Present proposal and ask for a decision to proceed. 6. Once the project starts, the very first thing to do is to collect more information, interview all key stakeholders and identify the key individuals that will aid in the resolution of the problem or issue, or the execution of the request. There is no such thing as "Let the consultant do it". Please Note; Each engagement is different and each client is different --- there is no standardized approach and one process that one must follow in all situations.
