What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Dog Training: Initial contact is made by the client and if they haven't filled out my Training Registration form, I will ask them to do so before scheduling our first session. Once form is submitted, we will agree on a day and time for our initial consultation and discuss any questions/challenges that the client might have prior to our first session. Pricing options and packages are reviewed during this conversation or via email so the client is aware of all the options available to them.
All classes & workshops: Customers are always more than welcome to contact me prior to registration if they have any comments or questions. Most students enroll themselves seamlessly through my website and registration site and pay to reserve their seat at that time prior to the workshop, seminar or class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a Veterinary Nurse since I was 15 and have worked with animals for over 18 years now through multiple day practices and emergency clinics. I have studied with some amazing behavior and training mentors who have helped me to become the balanced trainer that I am today. I have been a Certified Pet CPR & First Aid Instructor for almost 10 years and have become a Master Instructor through a strenuous process and now certify new Instructors across the country!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always wanted to be a teacher or a veterinarian when I was growing up... now I basically get to do both - teaching about working with animals!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Men, women and children of all ages, cultures and personality types! More importantly I have worked with almost every breed out there!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I specialize and love working with fearful, anxious or insecure dogs. I love watching their confidence build along with your confidence! Some cases take me a few short weeks and others are an ongoing process, but all cases make vast improvement in the pet's and owner's life!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a trainer that you get along with, but not a trainer that enables your habits that have gotten you to the place that you are today. My goal with clients is to always develop a newfound relationship with their dog that is based on respect, not fear. I want the dog to WANT to do what you ask of them... not fear what will happen if they don't. It's all based on respect and leadership.

What are my long-term goals with my dog?
Am I open to feedback the trainer may give me about my habits?
Am I willing to adjust my habits if I can get the results I want?
Am I willing to make a hard short-term time and financial commitment for the big results of a much more stress-free life with my pet in the long-term?
