Smith Metal Works isn’t just a business; it’s the continuation of a family craft that started in my grandfather’s small shop. He came to this country with little more than a welder, a toolbox, and a belief that if metal was cut, fit, and welded with care, it would speak for itself. As a kid, I spent weekends in his shop, sweeping floors, watching sparks fly, and listening to him explain why every railing and handrail mattered: “People trust their lives to what we build. That means we don’t cut corners.” Over the years, those lessons became the backbone of Smith Metal Works. We chose to specialize—railings, handrails, ramp rail systems, garbage enclosures, and miscellaneous metals—because that’s where precision and responsibility truly meet. Every line we draw, every field measurement we take, and every weld we lay is done with the same mindset my grandfather taught me: build it like your own family will lean on it. What makes us different is that this work is personal. We’re not just trying to “get a scope done”; we’re protecting people, helping GCs keep their projects moving, and leaving behind details that still look good years later. As an owner, I’m involved from the first call to the final punch-list, making sure the pride my grandfather had in his work shows in every rail, post, and panel we install. That’s why we do a great job—because for us, it’s more than metal. It’s our name, our story, and our family standard welded into every project.
