I needed to add an expansion joint along a brick wall of my home plus repairs to a dozen cracked bricks due to non-foundation problem (i.e., lack of expansion joint). The job was quickly done in an afternoon without any issues, attention to details, clean-up and perfectly matched mortar. The bricks cracks were repaired without removal by filling the cracks in a special way. If by magic - the repaired bricks were indistinguishable from the others leaving to wonder if there was ever a problem... Great masonry work is more **art** than skills and Alex with is definitely an artist. I have no problem highly recommending his FIRST MASONRY services. Cheers, Steve E.

My review would not allow me to give him a negative star. Alex who owns Firstmasonry scammed me out of $1,100 and more. He was hired to reface my fireplace with stack stone plus new wood mantel. I provided all the material the stack stone at $29 per box plus mortar. This was not cheap. I am very hurt by this man and his company. I thought by going thru Thumbtack I was doing the right thing. I believed he was vetted and a reliable and trustworthy person and company. He did about 70% of the job and we never heard from him again. We called and texted him, and didn't get answers. I had a real mason come and assess his work and was told all this stack stone have to come down because it wasn't done correctly. Some of it wasn't even mortared to the wall. All my hard earned money gone. I don't have another $1K to have this job corrected. All I WANT TO DO IS WARN OTHERS NOT TO HIRE THIS MAN AND HIS COMPANY!!!😡😡😭😭😭

Donna iam very sorry for all these incovienes.but u expected for me to work on Sunday's the day I go to church because u and your husband worked all week and Sunday was your only day off.Well Sunday's is also my day off.but I tried my best to work with your schedule.All the work was absolutely in great shape as u said the last day I was their .If the other Mason said it wasn't it was because he was trying to make more money of from u because job was almost finish .The lack of stone to complete the job was a very big problem for me because it contributed to me being absent in church with my family.But still I apologize.

UNPROFESSIONAL !!!!!!! I Hired Alex to fix a mailbox for a client of mine, I subbed this job to him because I am not a Mason personally. He called me an hr. after the scheduled start time to inform me that he had blew a tire on the way to the job, so I just went and picked him and the tire up and dropped him off at the job site so he could do the repair to the mailbox. I took time out of my day to help this man get his tire fixed while he worked. I picked Alex up after the work was completed and returned him to his vehicle with a new tire to get him home. I wrote Alex a temporary but still perfectly good check because the others have not come in the mail yet. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the payment I gave him. Alex had a problem could not cash my check because he doesn't use a major Bank. Third party check cashing services do not cash personal checks so he asked if i would just get him cash. I gladly did so and informed him that he could come pick it up from my office whenever was good for him. He then wanted me to leave work and send the money because he did not want to drive anymore. I informed him that i was very busy today and could not leave but that he was welcome to come and get the cash. Alex threatened me and my business when he did not get his way. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN !!!

Nicholas I appreciate u helping me with the tire but it wasn't a favor because u where pay for. If people really want to know. U really don't know how to do any kind of work.U lie to people to get work and then u sub it out .still collecting the major part.In All respect your a leech feeding off hard working people.And handing them checks that no any would cash them.And u new that they were good .That's why u took of as soon as it was handed to me .I might be a little unprofessional when it comes to my money.But iam not no cheat or liar.And u were also very very please with mailbox. Thank-you sir

We used Alex to do a repair of a wall that was separating from our foundation. Alex promptly replied to my request, was able to provide a fair price and was able to get the work done right away. It was very clear he took a lot of pride in the work he did and we were very pleased with the attention to detail he put into doing the job right and making sure the mortar was a perfect match. We would highly recommend Alex if you are in need of masonry work.
