- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is not complicated. I charge by the line for transcription, a standard 65-character line, and I charge by the audio hour for medical editing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm continuing to learn about new medications, procedures, etc. I stay up-to-date by constantly checking resources and references. It's a profession where you never stop learning.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In high school I had no idea what medical transcription was. I was a good typist and a good listener, and a school counselor suggested transcription as a profession. I tested for a class through school with students all over the district and qualified for one of six positions in the class. I have loved transcription every since.
