I am so happy I found Ponze Gold on Thumbtack! Jessica had amazing reviews, which is what led me to choose her for my wedding dress alterations—and I am beyond thankful that I did.
Before finding her, I unfortunately had a terrible experience with another tailor shop who completely butchered my dress. They had already started alterations (without telling me) and caused so much damage. That’s why I found Ponze Gold, I needed someone to save my dress! When Jessica examined my gown, she immediately identified several serious issues: huge pins placed in areas they should never be on a wedding dress, large holes, stains, rips, and tears. I was honestly devastated, but Jessica reassured me right away that she could fix it and take care of my dress properly.
Not only did she repair the damage, she provided incredible service at a very fair and affordable price. Many tailor shops charge extremely high prices because they have to pay multiple seamstresses, but Jessica is the owner and the seamstress herself. She also went to fashion school and truly specializes in wedding and special occasion dress alterations, so she absolutely knows what she’s doing.
My gown was a very large ball gown, and she hemmed it perfectly to the right height and even added beautiful tulle straps for me. She was so kind and patient throughout the process. Anytime I asked about modifications, she showed me examples and was willing to try things to help bring my vision to life. Other places I visited dismissed my ideas immediately and said it would “look ugly” without even attempting or showing me options. Jessica was the complete opposite—she listened, collaborated, and made everything come together beautifully.
My dress turned out absolutely perfect. I’m so grateful for her talent and care. I will definitely be coming back to her for alterations on other dresses in the future.
Jessica is an excellent communicator, very organized, flexible with scheduling, and accepts credit cards and multiple payment methods. She is incredibly professional and so sweet.
I highly, highly recommend Ponze Gold. Truly a 10-star experience!

This was my first time ever having anything altered and Jessica was so kind and understanding and even supportive! We were crunched for time and she still made it work perfectly! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on how much work is involved for each project. It's also very important to account for time to complete your project. Tailoring usually takes 1-3 weeks however smaller jobs can take less time. Custom design usually takes at least 3-4 months however again smaller jobs can take less time.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before any work is done I have an appointment scheduled for every client new or returning. The reason for this is to give one on one time with my clients so we can go over projects, or see the garment that needs to be worked on, do a fitting, and run through ideas or suggestions on what I can do for the client. I like my clients to feel open and comfortable and have my full undivided attention.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from El Centro Community College with a degree in Fashion Design. There I sharpened my skills and learned to pattern draft. I've been sewing and designing clothing since 2014 and I've also worked at a bridal salon where I Iearned how to do bridal alterations and also gained even more knowledge on garment construction. I'm also involved with the sewing community here in Dallas and I have worked on several projects since moving to here.
