About Pop's Trumpet College

Pop's trumpet lessons will help you become a pro player.

My trumpet lessons and trumpet books have been mentioned and quoted in clinics, dissertations, forums, magazines, other books, websites, and even YouTube videos.

I have written over 20 trumpet books and several articles for publications like "The International Trumpet Guild Journal" and "Windplayer Magazine".

Many of my trumpet students play and teach professionally, and some have written books.

If you look at my web page, you will notice recommendations from about 100 professional players and college teachers.

I have been able to take comeback players and help them become full-time playing pros.

I do lessons at my home in Grand Prairie, Texas and on Skype for $ 120 an hour or $ 65 for a half-hour lesson. Be sure to go to my website as there are many articles and instructional videos there.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Check to see if they have recommendations from past students. I have over 100 on my page but others in my business list RJ from Texas. Real ones have complete names, like I do.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I share many tips on my web page. BbTrumpet.com
I also answer questions on facebook. I think the #1 question is how hard is it to get work? I even wrote a book about that topic.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Tell them your goals and see if they have ever helped someone meet the goals that you have. I have helped people become pros so that shows I know what it takes.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. They should have some idea what they would like to accomplish. If you don't have any goals at all then it is hard to find a teacher to meet goals.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I was trained by Don Jacoby to teach. I studied to teach and the difference shows. Which is why I have been written about in the International Trumpet Guild Journal and Windplayer magazine as a teacher.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy taking a so-so player have getting them good enough to work steady. It is one on the biggest thrills I get in life.
