FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm always reading and looking to our professional organizations for whats new in the green industry. The TNLA and TAMU are both great resources for research that is going on in our field. I also like to keep up with the the Native Plant Society, Howard Garrett, Neil Sperry, and just about anything else I can get my hands on.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always had a passion for gardening, even when I was young. I worked at a florist for my first job when I was in high school. I went on to get my BS in Horticulture from TTU and worked in the nursery industry for the better part of a decade. Owning my own landscaping business was a natural progression.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You always want to make sure to hire someone insured, with a good background, certificates/degrees should be a must. I would stay away from the guys that are just a guy with a pick up truck and a mower because you can't be sure what you are going to get.
