FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you meet someone for the first time you typically want to get to know who they are and what they are about. My first session with a new client may be up to 2 hours long because we are building a relationship. I want the client to feel comfortable with me, I want to be comfortable with them. We want to make sure we are a good match with each other. As the client shares their story, I share mine as well. My whole goal is to build trust and confidence as we work as a team towards accomplishing the client's goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have almost 15 years experience working with women and teens in the areas of crisis, relationships, and past or present abuse. This includes 4 years mentoring and life coaching expertise. I have a Bachelors degree in Christian Counseling, Crisis Counseling, and Life Coaching, as well as a Masters in Human Services, Family/Marriage Counseling. My background experience comes from years of volunteer work at a teen shelter and women's center for domestic violence victims, personal ministry work as an online biblical counselor for 10 years as well as an email mentor for teens. Overcoming past circumstance in my life is my primary training from the school of "hard knocks". ***Disclaimer*** I am not a licensed counselor, nor am I a psychologically or medically trained therapist. I offer 'pastoral' counseling intended to bring life change through heart change.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with women who deal with depression, marital problems, anxiety and stress, healing, loss of a loved one, dating & relationship issues, past or present abuse. In addition, I coach women who are looking to start a business, go back to school, change careers, or who just want a healthier lifestyle.
