Monty was great. He arrived about 1/2 hour prior to his show to set up, he brought wands and hats for the kids to hand out after the show was over. The age group was 3-8, and they were so excited to try to figure out how he did that, and were still asking questions when he left. The parents raved at his ability to engage the kids (he did great) and he had a lot of great tricks. I think I was most impressed at the time when he was packing up and one of the children asked him about his magic secrets. His response said a lot about his character, and how he engages kids - he said "at the library there are lots of books on magic. You can ask your librarian to show you where they are. It's important that you become a good reader because you will be able to read those books and understand how I do my tricks." (or something similar to that.) Today the child showed me books on magic and was excited about the prospect of learning magic. It says a lot when someone loves their craft, and gets others to get excited about it too that they too, want to learn.
I would absolutely hire him again. His fee was very reasonable for a 45 minute show. He was great with the kids, and everyone including the parents enjoyed the show.
