- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Over the last 7 years I worked for a few lawn care and landscaping companies in the San Antonio and Houston areas. I love working outdoors with my hands in the dirt. I also love looking around at the end of a mow or landscape job and seeing how much better the property looks than when I pulled up. It's an enjoyable feeling of accomplishment every time! I work for a church in South Houston, but love to maintain my own clients and accounts on my days off. I hope to grow my business over the next few years into a way I can support my family, provide great service to my clients, and buy land to start an agricultural ministry to help feed the people of Houston.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
So far the most common calls I get are for either mowing, or mulch. Here in Houston our grass grows all year long, and our mulch wears out quick with the humidity and rain. I enjoy mowing, and I love how much better flowerbeds look after some new mulch is applied. I would also like to get more jobs planting trees, or shrubs, or annual flowers. These add a lot of beauty and biodiversity to a property.
