FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is determined on a friendly, ad-hoc basis. Basic weekend projects are typically less than $1000 for design and implementation, with you supplying the materials. Often, the customer will join in assistant-level labor. Larger projects can be spread over more days or completed using additional labor, according to the preference of the customer. Pricing is always negotiated after the free consultation and planning, after which there is no obligation to use my services.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My ideal job is a small space: one side of a room, a breakfast nook, a bathroomand a weekender: I show up Friday afternoon, we plan for 60-90 minutes, and then you hire me. (that's right, free consultation!) We build shelves, paint things, adjust lighting; but best are when we can repurpose materials and pieces from YOUR life, and make them part of an elegant, functionally personalized design.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A small apartment kitchen needed a way to readily access a variety of fruits for a juicing lifestyle, without permanently attaching or blocking other accesses. We designed a tree-shaped shelf that holds not only oranges, lemons and potatoes, but bottles of sauces, cookbooks, and their most commonly used pots and pans! All while adding to the visual interest and energy of the room.
