Tim, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Feedback from customers helps us to continually improve our processes and service. We are very sorry that you had this experience. As it relates to the timeframe needed to repair your floors, the expectation of a two-week completion for a special-order wood product is not based on anything we said or wrote as that is not possible for properly done work. Because of the freeze and Covid, unfinished engineered flooring was in very tight supply all summer. Once it arrived to town, we had it to your home within a few days to begin the acclimation process. Even under ideal (pre-covid) circumstances, transport and acclimation generally take at least two weeks; thus, there was no way we would ever quote completion of a hardwood installation within 2 weeks. We regret that we didn’t explain the time expectations well enough to you at the outset. To make matters worse, when the wood was acclimated and ready to install; our team was sent away by your painting crew. This meant that we had to rearrange our installation schedule. We pulled other projects forward. Those projects had to be seen to completion before we could then reschedule/resume your installation. As you know, waiting for a mill to make the exact thickness, grade, and width of engineered wood in the exact species that your house contains would have taken months. Because of your time sensitivity, we offered to order wider boards and have our crew cut them down to the proper width and then cut a new groove into every single board we installed – without asking you for any additional money to cover the cost of the additional labor. The process needed to repair your home was far more labor intensive and time consuming than installing pre-cut wood. And, also due to cost and time, you opted to have us use Red Oak rather than White Oak, which would have offered a better match of the seven holes you were having us patch. Given the inherent challenges of working with a different species, our crew matched the stain as close as possible. It comes as no surprise that you opted to refinish the entire room – since this was our recommendation – but you did not want to pay for that service. We truly appreciate having had you as a customer and also your review. Thank you for sharing your candid feedback; it helps our team improve our services. This experience has taught us to explain to customers that we will only perform repairs in a manner that we feel will result in a great outcome – even if that means the repair time is longer than they had hoped and the cost is a bit higher.
