- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We meet for an initial consultation during which I explain the types of relief the individual is likely qualified for; I address any issues that may arise; and I provide the cost and time frame of each step of the process. Once I'm hired on the case, we hit the ground running. The client gets a list of things to do, and documents to obtain. We make sure the client is just as involved in the process and gets to know exactly what is being done on their case and where their money is going to. We set a timeline in terms of when things are due and when something would be filed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A majority of my focus in terms of coursework, practical application, and internships in law school was in immigration law. I also spent one year in the immigration clinic as a law student, and was able to gain invaluable knowledge and experience in brief and motion writing as well as court room/trial work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing immigration work as a law student working in the immigration clinic. I was able to work with top notch professors and supervising attorneys who helped mold me into the compassionate attorney I am today. The hands on experience and the complexity of the cases I had the opportunity to work on was not only extremely invaluable, but it led me to want to continue the practice of immigration law upon graduation.
