I have worked with Dawn since May of 2010. Originally we met for fitness training exclusively, then we added nutrition and, most recently we have focused on combining these areas with life coaching sessions. During my time with Dawn I have experienced weight loss, as well as, a renewal of my energy, increased flexibility and, most importantly, a more centered, balanced and healthy approach to life. What I most appreciate about Dawn's approach is that she looks at each client's needs and creates an individualized program for them. - How did you get started doing this type of work?I have been in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years and years ago I realized that people kept moving from one diet to another and joining the next gym to see if that was the one that would keep them motivated. I saw discontentment in people who were physically unfit as well as in people who were physically fit. I knew there was a piece of the puzzle missing as I watched people moving from one avenue to the next without receiving lasting contentment or achieving the results they desired. That is when I decided to start my fitness journey all over again, from the beginning of when I was in my early 20's to see what I had missed along the way. This is when I realized I was walking the path of health and fitness was in an unbalanced, disconnected state. My mind was strong and determined, my body was a machine, and my soul had passion, but the three were not connected and not balanced. This is when I began to exercise all three areas of my life in a balanced fashion and to feed each area the proper nutrients it needed on a regular basis to know the true concept of what it means to be healthy as a whole person. It was a process that required the same type of attention as when beginning anything new. I had to focus on different areas of my life and look at things from a different perspective on a consistent basis. By actually walking the path of what it takes to achieve over-all health and wellness it has given me the experiential knowledge to help many people from all different walks of life. I understand it is not easy, but I have developed a program to keep it simple and effective so you too can achieve the desires of your heart naturally. It is a privilege to serve you with what I have learned in becoming healthy, for real, connected in mind, body and soul.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Make sure you are being asked questions about your needs and desires, not being told what you need because of what someone is trying to sell you. Ask the amount of experience your service provider has been exposed to. What is their area of expertise.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?I recognize that the whole person needs to be treated and I am able to identify with clients emotional state, while helping to establish a positive balance and connection between the mind, body and soul. I work on the premise that the body has an innate healing ability and my commitment lies in helping to establish the right environment for healing to take place. Once the healing has taken place and balance is restored you will develop strength for prevention as well as maintain a lifestyle of harmony of health and well-being through a connected mind, body and soul.
