Christopher and his crew poured an addition to our concrete driveway. The final product turned out fine. I plan to use them on my next concrete and remodeling project.
Vadim did a good job repairing sheetrock and painting the inside walls of our home. He properly repaired the sheetrock using screws instead of nails that can come loose later. He is a no nonsense paint contractor that gives you a fair price, just gets to work, will listen to your feedback, and has a good attitude. We plan on working with Vadim in the near future on several other paint projects.
Les worked for me on three occasions, each time for fairly extensive periods, averaging 2 - 3 months each time. Originally, I wanted to fix up our old place before selling it. The bathrooms were the main area of interest, and he suggested using tile for the lavatories which had originally been done in cultured marble that had yellowed and stained over time. The finished results looked outstanding. When he had completed the majority of the original work, a roof leak following a storm damaged my wooden floors and the ceiling and wall sheetrock upstairs. A few months later, Les returned and re-floored partial sections of two upstairs rooms. The original flooring had been applied with glue, so it was extremely difficult to get the floor level again so that new wood could be laid, but he managed to do so, and the net result was that the new flooring blended in seamlessly. Damage to the ceiling was also repaired expertly. Finally, when we moved into our new place, Les 1) made a number of sheetrock repairs throughout the house, 2) repainted most of the house (2400 sq. feet with several flights of stairs), 3) removed the carpeting and refloored the downstairs bedroom/office using hardwood, and 4) built a custom wall-to-wall (8' wide by 8' high) bookcase in one of the upstairs rooms, and 4) applied an epoxy coating to the garage. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of all of the work and feel confident in saying that Les can take on any challenge given to him. He is also dependable and trustworthy.
Bill did a very nice job repairing my roof, replacing dry wall and painting damaged ceilings. His charges were very reasonable. He was there when he said he would be (except once), spent as much time as necessary and even took time away from his previously planned day off for the job. It all looks great! My only complaint was that he didn't come by when he said he would on the first day. In fact, he ended up not coming by at all then and there wasn't much communication from him about what was going on. There may have been some misunderstanding on my side too. However, since then he's been excellent. I'm even having him put up a green house and will probably ask him to put in some flooring as well as additional painting in the future. He's also a nice guy.
Dirty Birds Services was selected to repaint our living room and stairwell as well as install vinyl flooring, install two electrical floor outlets, and replace crown molding while adding some molding along the floor and doors and windows. They did not present the lowest bid, but their attention to detail and the time and effort spent in covering all facets of the job with us, won us over . All in all, we couldn't be more pleased with the job they did. They finished on schedule and managed to do what was promised -- and then some -- while still holding true to their estimate. Two hardworking, trustworthy and multi-talented ladies. They were genuinely excited what they were doing. Dirty Birds Services comes highly recommended by my wife and I.
Service went very well for post construction cleaning. Recommend again and again.
We hired Kevin to replace several areas of door and baseboard trim, to install some quarter round, to frame out and install a door to our master bathroom, and to do some tile and grout work in our bathrooms. We were highly satisfied. He was by far the best contractor we have ever hired. Kevin is very professional, not only with the actual performance of the work, but from the business side as well. He provided a detailed, written quote and contract, outlining the scope of work, and he called us at the end of each day to give us a progress report. We completely trusted him being in our home every day and had full confidence in him. The work itself was perfection. We will definitely reach out to him again in the future.
Michael and his crew from Square Circle Homes did a great job on the floor leveling and pressure washing they did on my house. They came out for an estimate with in a day of our initial introduction and were able to start work the day after. He and his team were professional, courteous, and prompt (never missed an agreed upon start time). Due to wet cement we couldnt test a few areas until the next day and they came back and touched up the areas that I pointed out without complaining or increasing the cost. They also pointed out some areas of the house that needed improvement without any high pressure sales jobs to hire them to do it which I appreciate. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a handyman.
He did an exceptional job and paid attention to every detail when he refinished my cabinets I wanted them painted after the were originally stained but no texture from brush strokes - he was very through and they came out perfect I will definitely use gentle touch for all of my future house projects
My wife and I, have had two occasions to work with Gary Baker. The first was after Hurricane Ike when we had damage to our roof. Mr. Baker had our entire roof removed and replaced in a day and a half. The second was after a kitchen fire which damage our cabinets, countertops and floor. After the fire remediation company had cleaned our home, Mr. Baker had our cabinets redone, new countertops throughout including a ceramic tile bar and new flooring competed within a week. Mr. Baker also went out of his way to meet with the insurance adjuster and work with them directly, to allow us to focus on putting our lives back together. Both my wife and I are very pleased with the work Mr. Baker has completed for us and if ever we need work done again, we would not hesitate to contact him.
Scott Shelton (owner and operator of ZSS Corp.) has been doing work in our residence for several years and has done everything for our home from power washing to electrical work, including faux painting, lighting, doors, wood working and wood flooring. I've seen some of the kitchens he's renovated which included new tiling, lighting, cabinetry and countertops - all done with much care and expertise. I call Scott "MacGyver" because there isn't anything he can't do. Not only do we trust Scott to do top notch work at a fair price, but we also trust him in our home when no one else is home - we even trust him with keys to our home when necessary. I know this sounds corny, but Scott is definitely our "go-to-guy" for everything.
Eric remodeled my whole master bathroom from tiling my floor and my shower. He hand made my cabinets and put in granite counter tops along with all of my fixtures. Not to mention he even rerouted all the bathroom plumbing!
When I was transferred from Texas to Maryland I bought a charming 2-story Victorian on the historic register -- with major structural issues caused by old termite damage. I had no idea how extensive that damage would prove to be. In desperation, I flew J Oxford and one of his men to Maryland to fix the damage. He leveled the house, rebuilt the floor joists in the kitchen, added 2-1/2 bathrooms, moved the kitchen, turned the back porch and storage area into a family/dining room and made that house a jewel. Before he left, I asked him to build a small guest house. Maryland is very strict with permitting and building inspections, and his work passed every inspection the first time. I sold that house and returned to Texas in January 2005. I immediately purchased 3 foreclosure houses that were in the most deplorable condition I had ever seen. Interior Finish Systems inspected each house before I bought it and assured me they could bring them back to life and up to code. I just wish I could post pictures. I paid $10,000 for the first house that we called "the nasty little sh**t hole". The 3-bedroom house was wired using just two 20-amp breakers with open splices throughout the attic. It got all new wiring and plumbing and a major makeover. It was beautiful when they were through. The inspector said it passed inspection better than the new houses in the area. I paid $15,000 for the second house and discovered the aluminum wiring had actually caused some little fires in the walls and the plumbing and the roof leaked. Again IFS worked their magic and it sold the same day I listed it. I paid $13,500 for a "camp house" with a view of the lake. It was unlivable by anyone's standards. IFS completely renovated the house, added a 600 sq ft master bedroom suite and a large covered front porch complete with ceiling fans. It sold for $107,000. I then purchased a 4th house for $20,500 that was advertised as "more than a handyman special." It sat empty for over three years and had been stripped to the bones by vandals. It also had a huge tree through the garage compliments of Hurricane Ike. After Interior Finish Systems worked their magic, it was such a beautiful home that I moved into it myself. Their service was professional and creative, and when I wanted a wall moved or a last-minute change, they were more than accommodating. After I moved into the last house, I hired them to build a large two-story shop in the back of the property. I would never consider using another contractor. Once you find a contractor you can trust, that will be your contractor for life!
