I recently had the pleasure of working with Alvarado Construction, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations in every possible way. After dealing with a previous concrete company to install a pool deck for a new pool construction that constantly delayed the project, I was left frustrated and desperate for a reliable company to complete the job. That's when I stumbled upon Alvarado Construction and reached out to them for help. From the moment I contacted them, they were incredibly responsive and professional. They understood my situation and promised to work within my tight timeline and around the unreliable pool installation company. And that's exactly what they did. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and completed the entire project in just a couple of days. They even started and completed the work early after the pool installer delayed the overall project again. I was impressed by their attention to detail and the quality of their work. They even provided drone photos of the project's progress. This was really nice considering the large size of the project to get a great view of the project as a whole. What really stood out to me was how accommodating they were with the last-minute schedule changes by the unreliable pool installation company. Alvarado Construction went above and beyond to work around their schedule and ensure everything was done correctly. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Alvarado Construction. Hired Alvarado Concrete to extend my back patio and I am very pleased with the results. Working with Sierra and Julio was great! I had some delays with HOA approval and they were very understanding and professional. I will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Juan came out and gave a quote right after I called. His price was the same as the lowest quote i had gotten and $4,000 cheaper than the highest. He showed up when he said he would start and had employees that were first rate. We had to wait a couple of days to pour the concrete because of rain and he poured the concrete exactly the day he told me. They did an outstanding job with the finish and cleaned up everything on the job site, even some rocks around the slab that were there when they started. He had nice equipment, excavator and finishing equipment. I will call him again in the future for any concrete work.

Seriously awesome. I had been ghosted by 3-4 other concrete companies. Alvarado was super fast, responsive and very fair. I will hire them again and highly recommend them for anyone looking to do concrete!

I hired Alvarado Concrete to help with a garage addition. They floated the garage floor to match that of my home's foundation. They were very communicable, punctual, and worked quickly. They explained their process in good detail and as a woman, I really liked getting to communicate with Sierra. They were responsive when there was some confusion with my GC, and came out to talk with him. My only complaint was that they used my onsite dumpster to their concrete waste, which hardened to the bottom of the roll out. They did come back and clean it out and did so extremely quickly. Overall I'm really happy with their service and I would recommend to others!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Concrete pricing varies by project. The internet says we should charge ‘x’ amount per square foot. Most of the time it’s not that simple, although I wish it was. It would definitely make my job a lot easier. The problem with charging ‘x’ amount per square foot is the size of each project. For smaller projects, like patios, it simply does not equal out as far as materials and labor. For each project I first meet with my customer, gather all necessary information, and then I go home, take time to calculate all material, and labor that I will need for that specific job. The total price that I come up with is then specific to that job.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once you reach out to me through Thumbtack I will receive a notification and respond asap. I usually then follow up with a phone call to schedule a time to come out and meet with you to discuss your project. This will also give us a chance to meet in person. I will meet with you at the project site. During this time I will be measuring and checking project site access. I will be gather as much information as possible to come up with the best possible estimate. After our meeting I will take time to calculate all materials and labor I will need to complete your project. I will then send you the estimate. This is usually done within 24 hours of our meeting depending on the size of your project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started out in concrete as a helper. We poured foundations for houses all day long. Sometimes we would pour 3-5 houses a day, all in a row. Sometimes we would pour foundations at 2AM/3AM. Everything else (forms/tying rebar/cleanup) was done by another crew. I became fascinated with concrete, and I wanted to learn everything else. I learned forms, rebar, reading plans, and now it’s my passion. I started my business 2 years ago and I still learn new things every day. I am always open to new ideas.
