I hired Orlando install some new closet doors throughout the house. He was easy to schedule with and available immediately. Orlando was easy to communicate with throughout the work, tidy as he worked, and cleaned up after himself once finished. All but one of the doors look nice and I am happy with the work on them.
The first set of doors installed don't look great, and I was a bit disappointed by this. I know this is somewhat a function of the doorframe not being perfectly square etc., however, that is part of why I opted to hire a professional rather than attempt the installations myself, hoping that someone with more know how and experience would have been able to measure and better account for any lack of being square with their cuts and planing of the doors. Besides this one closet, the other closets looked nice and were cut and planed to fit well, so the work seemed to adjust and improve after this first set.
The work took a bit longer than I hoped it would, and as result costed more than I had hoped, as it was hourly work.
This project perhaps held a personal lessons for me- l might have been better off hiring a door specialist than a general handyman, and also better off contracting for a set price than hourly work, as the hourly total ended up being more than some of the other quotes I received via Thumbtack.
I would hire Orlando again for small, general and unspecialized projects that I was more confident didn't have the potential to be as time consuming.
