FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For accounting simplicity, payment is expected at the beginning of each tutoring session. Typically, routine sessions are set for the same time slot on certain day(s) of the week. Alternately clients may schedule sessions one-at-a time, as space is available on the tutor's calendar. With less than a week's notice, the courtesy of paying for missed appointments is appreciated; rescheduling depends on space being available in the tutor's schedule.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication depends on the customers preference, and can be handled in person, by phone, by text, or by email. During the first scheduled session, I meet the student and his/her parent(s) to further discuss details. If the student feels comfortable, then the parent leaves and I work one-to-one with the student for the remainder of the time. If the customer decides that I am a good fit as a tutor, then additional sessions are scheduled.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My B.S. and M.S degrees are in Applied Math from engineering schools, so I understand math inside out. As a graduate student, I taught undergrads, and I have enjoyed helping others ever since. I am told by students that I explain things a lot more simply than other teachers and tutors.
