I have had few personal trainers in my quest to reach my goals in fitness for the past 3 years. So, this is not a new year resolution for me. Recently, my TWO!!!! different personal trainers have become a little hard to establish a routine. My overall progress in strength, cardio and flexibility have stalled. Having a bad lower doesn't help, but with a KNOWLEDGEABLE professional trainer, the sky is the limit. Enter here Adam Smith. He is what I was lacking to reach the next level. Adam was quick to communicate, easy to schedule and was on time. Today after my first session, I can tell I finally got a Professional Trainer, that knows his trade. The session was ALL fun, full of new challenges and most important safe to my lower back. The Kickboxing part was an eye opening fun experience. Having a Karate background, I felt back at home. Can't wait for the next session in 3 days. I guess that the saying: "Can't teach an old dog new tricks", doesn't apply to me. At 55 years young, I am ready to learn and kick some serious........ ;-) If you are stuck in your fitness journey or are looking for a lifestyle change, don't waste time and call Adam. Ken Brooks and I went through a six credit college course of Yoga Teacher Training together. He was always on time. In our work in small groups he brought his vast amount of knowledge about philosophy, anatomy, and the energetic bodies with attentiveness and passion. I learned so much from Ken, and the yoga classes I had with him were always engaging and deep. He brings incredible passion, heart, and perfectly placed humor to the work he does with movement arts. His confidence and clarity brings a state of ease to his students as he guides them through movements and thoughts that are new and fascinating. He is also had great clarity and took initiative with assessing and organizing orders etc. for our yoga props and for the yoga student group he was part of. I highly recommend him!
I Have studied with Justin for over 2 years. In that time amongst the many things he has taught me are ; sun, yang, and old yang style tai chi, bagua, self defense, and chi kung. I really appreciate the detailed explanations he gives as to what is behind what he teaches and the way the energy works. He is a very experienced, dedicated, knowledgable, patient, and grounded teacher. I have seen various students come to him after years of training in karate, grasshopper, or kung fu for example, and in one session realize that they have much to learn. Justin is the real deal. Yet he meets you at whatever level you are at. I highly recommend him.

Patrick is great to train with. He takes his knowledge and his many years of experience and teaches it in an easily understandable way. The moves and tactics are challenging but Patrick takes plenty of time with each student to ensure that they have mastered what is being taught. I started taking ACWA self-defense classes not knowing what to expect. The team has an extensive knowledge of self-defense and the ability to help you gain confidence to use the techniques in real life situations. The interactive classes develop a sense of awareness of your surroundings and provide common sense concepts and functional defense based on easy, natural movements, not complicated techniques that require years to learn and execute properly. I have been able to build confidence as they have provided a toolbox to build from moving forward. I started in a class with beginners mixed in with more experienced students and never felt uncomfortable due to their ability to keep everybody engaged. Theyâre great at instructing to match individual students' level of experience and providing feedback without being critical. Learning self-defense at ACWA has been a great experience and I look forward to working with them through more extensive levels of instruction.

I took self defense lessons from him for about a year and it helped with my self confidence and took away a lot of fear I had about going out in public, especially evenings alone. He introduced me to moves that I dont think you can learn from anywhere else with the intention of self defense, and not karate, but actual self defense if someone grabbed you from behind. I was very impressed with the knowledge and the care he took to release my fears. I would recommend hum for any woman for self defense.
My daughter loves Southlake ATA! She has learned so much and become a lot more confident all while having fun, getting great exercise and making new friends. My daughter is only 4 belts in and is already enjoying the weapons program as well as the leadership program. Her confidence has improved 100% as well as her attitude. Mr. and Mrs. Boyer as well as the other instructors are patient and willing to work with a very wide range of ages and abilities. My daughters favorite thing is competing in tournaments and watching her fellow classmates compete and learning from them. She enjoys watching the students that are World Champions and State Champions and strives to follow in their footsteps. I am confident she is in the right place to do just that!
