Before I detail the most unprofessional, poorly run contractor running a business that I have ever met - Cheyne Williams - I would like to say that he does have a good guy named Al working for him. Al should be running the business and I will say that after the highway robbery that occurred, Al even came out to my house on his own time and tried to make it right. Thank you Al. JNC Repairs is run by a college kid named Cheyne Williams who is so distracted that he will ask you a question and as you try to answer he'll talk right over you and ask 3 more. He did not listen at all when I gave instructions...he was far more interested in finding 50 other things that I had not brought him to fix to work on and ignoring the things I had brought him in to fix and extorting money out of the home owner daily and complaining that you owe him for the things he worked on while not actually working on the things you brough him in to work on. I originally brought him in to clean the gutters. I'm certain he did the gutters around my garage...it should speak volumes that I am not even sure whether he did the ones around my house or not. I also was looking for painting and some general handyman stuff. He said he could do it and gave a reasonable bid so initially he was going to work on cleaning the gutters, painting some of my downstairs, fixing a broken rail on my stairs, cleaning up my backyard, bleaching the house, and fixing the gas line in my fire place. Of those tasks listed and over $4000 dollars later NONE of it was completed accept for the painting -- the painting was average at best and they painted right over every light switch and outlet they came across not bothering to take them off or paint around them. Cheyne capped off the gas line in my fireplace, said he'd fix it, but never did. He went to home depot and lowes and said there was no matching stair rail -- I found an exact match in 2 minutes at Home Depot - and worse he tried to use an unneeded lower rail to swap in for the broken one but he failed to measure before he cut it out of my stairs and then discovered it was too short. He then used - and I'm not kidding - about 10-15 long thin nails hammered in at every angle but ALL WITH NO LESS THAN AN 1/2 INCH OF UNCOVERED, BENT, EXPOSED NAIL. It looked like a nail bush at the bottom of the rail and posed a serious cut hazard never mind I have 4 kids that go up and down those stairs every day. No what Cheyne did work on was my chimney and a frame for my microwave...two things that needed work and Cheyne brought to my attention...but also two things that should have taken a faaaaaar back seat to all the things on his list. Instead he spent the better part of a week fixing a hole in my chimney and building the worst, most impractical microwave frame ever created. It should go into a museum of non-functional carpentry items. Effectively he spent 2 or 3 days building this piece of garbage. It framed the microwave such that there was no way to get a finger between it and the microwave on any side which became important because when you pushed any buttons or openned the door the microwave would slide back into the enclosure and get out of alignment....given the tight framing there was really no convenient way to readjust it and since you had to readjust it every single time you used the microwave it was a nonstarter...not to mention that you couldn't open the microwave door to begin with...it hit a lip on the bottom and would get stuck every time you tried to open it. Oh and it looked horrible. Completely unprofessional with semi-matched stains to the wood around it but made from poorly cut crap stock. As mentioned earlier this operation barely has the gas to get to work everyday and my understanding from a couple of the workers is Cheyne fails to pay his help routinely and runs off with all the money. I paid for materials and some labor up front and from there he was begging for payment every single day and showing up with more and more confusing invoices which kind of overlapped but not quite. I couldn't make heads or tails of what he'd finished not finished or was even working on. At the end of it he'd gotten a botched payment from my mom through paypal for 400 for blinds. I never saw a blind and kept asking for a refund. THis punk calls my mom and tells her I am trying to steal her money and that I owe him a bunch of money -- never mind he literally NEVER FINISHED ALMOST ANYTHING - and my mom felt sorry for him and told him to keep the money. I almost cried when she told me. I would sue him instantly but am certain there would never be the possibility of recouping any of my court costs let alone blinds or any of the work I paid thousands of dollars for that he never finished. He whined at the end that I owed him money for work he'd done that was not even under contract. Our relationship ended when I paid him for all contracted work - $2400 cash - he promptly pocketed that money and walked off the job site never to return. Effectively he left my house a disaster area - 6 foot pile of garbage in front of my back door...nails sticking out of railings...unfiinished painting...unfiinished crappy microwave frame...unfinished fireplace repair...he claims he did a great job fixing the hole on my chimney and I bet he did since it's the one thing I can't easily see nor anyone coming to see my house if I ever get it on the market after the time and money this joke of an "agency" is. Again, Al is a good guy and did good work, but Cheyne the unfocused work on whatever I feel like and whine about gas money every day kid runs the thing and he is a nightmare. MY ADVICE: STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE NIGHTMARE I'M STILL LIVING THANKS TO THIS IDIOT.
