Joshua and I started working together when he was affiliated at Premier Martial Arts next door in 2013. I was a college sophomore, pretty skinny and young. I eventually started working with him one on one in private boxing lessons. Joshua is one of the most charismatic, personal, talented individuals I have been honored to get to know. He used to box in the navy, he knows his stuff. He guided me on how to lay bricks on the stomach. He instills the value of personal health, mind, soul, and nutrition. I eventually started walking in runway shows in New York City and London, and I thank him for the workout routines and techniques he instilled in me. He is a life mentor to me, constantly throwing positive life incentives and drive. If you're serious about living a meaningful lifestyle and getting in touch with yourself not just physically, Joshua is the MAN.

I had the privilege of having Jasmine as a personal trainer for almost 2 years. I started at John's Gym at just about my 40 year mark. Prior to this - I had not ever had a regular exercise regimen. I was at a point where regular exercise needed to be part of my life, and not just a luxury. Meeting Jasmine and working with her twice a week was the best thing I ever did to get into this routine. I am one who needs accountability to be at the gym - and a trainer was what I decided I needed to get started. Jasmine was very welcoming and her personality makes you motivated and excited to be there and keep coming back. She is excellent at tailoring your specific needs. Her attention to detail and teaching correct form is great. She helped me with diet goals as well exercise. She was always positive and inspiring - never did I feel like I didn't belong there - even with a gym not usually being my comfort zone. With Jasmine - you could always tell that this was not just a job, but a second home. She loves what she does, she practices what she preaches, and I could always tell her excitement when she saw her clients making headway and improving themselves. I still today, about 2-3 years after having Jasmine as my trainer, work out a minimum of 2-4 times a week. This is the longest I have stuck with exercising, and now feel that it is a part of my life for having more energy, stress relief, mental clarity, and most important, being healthier and happier for my 10 year old son. I feel Jasmine was an integral part of starting me down this path and so happy I found her. If you are wanting to start down this road, or already have and need someone to help you advance or reach a goal, I highly recommend her - you won't be disappointed!!

I have had a great experience with Aces Jiu Jitsu Club. Their head Coach Mikal Abdullah is the real deal when it comes to martial arts. Everything I learned has been authentic and I have seen dramatic results in achieving goals not only in martial arts but in my life as well. Before coming to Aces, I had studied martial arts for 19 years, only to always come up short when competing. Instead, the elite coaching and supportive community at Aces enabled me to embrace my potential. I went from never winning a single gold medal to winning 4 times in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition and dominating my first Muay Thai smoker this past year in 2015. What has surprised me even more is that I find myself more and more applying the lessons I learn in class to my life outside. From the high level instruction, to friendly atmosphere and clean facilities, to the wonderful community, I give Aces Jiu Jitsu Club 5 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for an introduction and guidance in the martial arts, this is the place to be!

I have finally started back with my Jiu Jitsu training thanks to Joao Crus. I am taking private lessons at this time and will look towards general classes once my skill level and endurance are adequate. Joao has been great getting me back involved and I look forward to advancing far under his teaching.

I've attended weekly private Krav Maga classes from Jeff Isacksen for most of 2015. Jeff's proven to be an exceptional teacher, not just for me but for other students of all shapes, sizes, and dispositions. Jeff's uncommonly thoughtful, using everything at his disposal to make his students feel confident while working to make sure that they learn how to protect themselves. He's a devout student of his craft, and he works tirelessly to improve, both as a fighter and as a teacher. Jeff is constantly creating new lessons to keep people engaged while building on what he's already taught. Give him a try, and even after one lesson, you'll walk away feeling better about yourself. I did!

Damion is my Aikido Sensei at Techni One Martial Arts in Austin, Texas. He is an incredible instructor: knowledgeable, patient, accessible and perceptive. He has a keen eye and is able to guide students through ever-so-slight adjustments that lead to sound execution of the techniques/principles. Damion is an all around great guy with serious skills AND a sense of humor making class with him most enjoyable.

I have tried other Martial Arts gyms in Austin and this one is by far the best. Great coaches who are invested in their students. I was 240 lbs when I started and Coach Mikal helped me achieve my weight loss goals through great classes and accountability. I lost 35 lbs in 6 months and feel amazing! Best place in Austin for Martial Arts and fitness!
