We take pride in focusing solely on the clients wants and needs from beginner to elite. Our facility has everything needed to get you to the best version of yourself possible. We at Balcones hone in on safety, proper form and movement, fat loss, muscle building, strength gain, cardio, and anything fitness related. We routinely work with Triathletes, Ultra trail runners, road runners, and obstacle course athletes, as well as competitive powerlifting and crossfitters. I've been Crossfitting for over 6 years and been to countless gyms. Without question, Balcones Fitness is one of the best. I traveled to Austin for a week and wanted to workout while I was there. I'd heard about Balcones from a friend, so I decided to check it out. I couldn't have been happier with my experience. The gym was clean, the people were incredibly nice and welcoming, and the head coach (Juan) was extremely knowledgable about what he was trying to teach. He put us through a great warmup really emphasising the mobility aspect of Crossfit (which many Crossfit gyms spend very little time on). He then took his time showing/ explaining the strength portion of the workout really stressing the importance of using a weight you can do WITHOUT compromising form. And finally, he finished us off with a workout that left majority of the gym flat on our backs. What I think stood out the most about Balcones though is that the members truly looked like they loved being there. Definitely go checkout Balcones if you are in/ around Austin looking to drop in somewhere. And if you live in the area and aren't a member yet... You're missing out!

I was really afraid to try xfit at first because I have a history of injury. I attended a workout at Balcones with a friend so I could at least say I tried. I ended up absolutely loving the workout and seeing how it could be a huge benefit. The elements class is very helpful and Balcones stresses the importance of learning good form to prevent injury, and be more effective in the movements. As an ultra runner I was also afraid that it would interfere with my training, however they have very flexible hours and you can check out the workout before hand to kind of predict how you will be feeling the next day. Everyone there is also great company. I highly recommend checking them out.

Juan Sebastian Parra's knowledge (outstanding) , attention to detail (importance of nutrition) , and true commitment (remarkable) to make you a better/fitter individual surpasses all expectations. I felt motivated, encouraged and more important I felt he really cared about my well being, besides my fitness. I would recommend and encourage you to have a session with Juan Sebastian. It will make you change your approach to fitness.

Awesome staff and gym . The staff are genuine people who are willing to work with you on your goals. Trainer Juan was actually just as excited as myself when reviewing my progression . If you want a great experience ,great atmosphere and great staff - look no further !!!!

Balcones has the feel of an authentic CrossFit gym, which I love! The staff and community echo that feel: Hard work. A supportive community. And, of course, fitness!
