About
I'm one of few college professors privately tutoring in the Dallas area. I have years of targeted training in teaching methodology to back up the techniques I use to not only tutor students, but give them the confidence they need to excel. I develop a close relationship with each of my students, and adapt my techniques to each student's individual needs. I do my best to go the extra mile for each of my students, whether it's a phone call to calm nerves on test day or answering texts to go over things we discussed during sessions that the student needs clarification about. You can trust that if you hire me, I will treat your son or daughter with respect and patience, and I will not rest until we find a solution to his or her educational needs. I've taught hundreds of college students how to think and read critically, and how to write at the college level. I've worked with students with learning disabilities and some who just suffer from low confidence due to past educational experiences. I always find a way to make learning enjoyable again. I love seeing the "light bulb moment" on a student's face, that second where he or she finally masters a concept or subject he/she has been struggling to understand. That moment of realization makes our hard work- both the student's and mine- worth it. It is so fulfilling to work with students on an individual basis. I get to focus my teaching methods in to what each student needs in a way that is difficult to do in my larger classroom settings. I have the opportunity to change the way students perceive themselves (yes, you can write and read well!) and, sometimes, alter the course of their education for the better. My goal is to take students who have fallen through the cracks of the educational system and create lifelong learners out of them. Our kids should love learning and be taught that they can achieve any goal on which they set their minds.

Professor Casario began tutoring our son (11th grader) three weeks ago and already he has improved his writing skills in his high school English class. Dr. Casario is professional and works to really get to know her students on a personal as well as academic level. Our son looks forward to "learning something new" in every session with her. We look forward to seeing our son's SAT scores in the spring. She is an awesome instructor.

When you are looking for someone to help not only your child and yourself with communication regarding education it's scary. Mickey was the only person that was specific on how she could help and that she wanted to help. Her passion came through on the first email. I was able to meet with her before making a decision and my gut did not fail me. Mickey loves what she does. You can only hope to have someone like her work with your child. Mickey is professional and caring. She forms a plan specific to a person's personality. She collected as much detail about my son before meeting him to be prepared. They took to each other right away. My son was so excited about her and I am too. After leaving she sent me a message reassuring me his educational needs would be taken care of. We are so relieved and can't wait for this journey.

She did an amazing job with the copy for my website. She was very thorough in trying to understand what I was looking for. I didn't even need to make revisions to the 1st draft! I will def be using her again in the future.

She tutored my high school aged son. She inspired him, taught him and generally restored his confidence and love of simply doing well. She is so fun, intelligent and has a gift when it comes to teaching. Wouldn't hire anyone else. She's the best.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have my MA in Literature and my BS in Business. I have been teaching at the college level for 4 years, and have been trained in the current teaching methodology that is proven to work.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started student teaching during grad school and discovered that teaching is my calling in life.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When you're hiring someone to help your kids succeed in an academic subject they're struggling in, make sure that the tutor is knowledgeable not just in the subject, but in teaching. You want someone who is patient and has experience working with students who may be resistant to schoolwork because of lower confidence or negative experiences they have had. College students might be cheaper tutors, but do they have the background to help your kids succeed? Even a few private sessions with a well-qualified and trained educator are more effective and worth the price of many sessions with a tutor who gets your child through assignments with passing grades but doesn't teach him/her the skills he/she needs to be able to excel in the subject alone.
