FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The Law Firm of Aubrey L. Morgan TAILORED SERVICES: A SOPHISTICATED APPROACH. STANDARD. This is the standard form of legal professional services and is the appropriate level of service for most family law matters. Under this form, our client funds an initial retainer and nearly all services and expenses are billed against the retainer. All services are billed at an hourly rate; expense costs vary. When the retainer is depleted, our client replenishes his or her trust account until all work on the case is completed. CONSULTING SERVICE. Because each case is unique, our stand-alone consulting service may be appropriate under certain circumstances. This service it tailored to our client's needs and is available on a one-time or on-going basis. Stand-alone consultations start at 90 minutes in duration. FLAT-FEE. This form of service is appropriate for uncontested matters and offers basic, yet exceptional, legal service to clients. Not every case is the same, and we do not believe that legal services should be, either. LEGAL INSURANCE. We are currently working toward accepting various legal insurance plans and expect to have this service on-line before the end of the year. If you currently have legal insurance, please contact our office to see how our other services compare to the benefits of your plan. PRO BONO. Philanthropy is an underpinning of our firm. To that end, our firm accepts a select number of cases on a pro bono basis. This form of service may mirror our standard, consulting, or flat-fee services, except that there are no professional service fees associated with this form. All expenses must still be paid by our client. There is no wait list for this service. To find out if we are offering sliding scale services, please see our Services webpage for current status.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially, I meet with a potential client for a one-hour consult (on average). At this stage, I assess my potential client's case and offer advice, in addition to us planning a general case strategy together. I will address fees at this stage, too. If the potential client wants to retain my services, he or she will sign a legal services agreement with me and fund an initial retainer (usually). After that point, my process will depend on what stage of litigation we are in and how my client wishes to proceed. Throughout the entire process, I focus on providing exceptional service to my client and work diligently to communicate clearly and often with my client. With few exceptions (related to ethics and practice in conformity with The Texas Lawyer's Creed - all of which is discussed up-front with all potential clients), my client is in control of his or her case. It is my role to represent, educate, and advise you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin (With Honors) - 2008. I graduated from Baylor Law School with a Juris Doctorate in February 2013.
