Type of water heater
Gas tank (standard),
Found leak in water heater late afternoon. Called Local Plumping Service. Tim and Mike arrived mid morning next day. Gave me reasonable estimate to replace it. I accepted. They had to go get the replacement. Installed it that afternoon. I don't think you can beat that for service in todays market. I highly recommend Local Plumbing Service.Apr 16, 2019Review from GoogleLocal Plumbing Service's reply

Gas Line Installation
Tim and the folks at Local did a fantastic job on the new line installation, but the part of the job that impressed me the most was that they really took the time to listen and communicate; to both understand what I was looking to do, and to help me understand what could be done. In the end, it was fast and professional, and I couldn't be happier.Jan 23, 2019VerifiedLocal Plumbing Service's reply
Thanks again Andrew!
Plumbing Pipe Repair
Communication was a big issue, I gave the company 2 projects (1 water repair and 1 gas plumbing job), the pipe repair for the water leak was simple and quick. That’s where it ended for us, it seems. The gas repair took nearly 2 weeks, they initially charged $550 for a 20 minute gas test - which should have been the first red flag (the gas company had already done this). They assured me the $550 fee would include finding the leak - that ended up not being the case. After some back and fourth, they told me it was a miscommunication and that the $550 fee included a retest as well as the permit fee - as required by the city/gas company when a gas meter is locked. Another $1,650 to find and fix the leak, which I was absolutely comfortable paying given the urgency. As noted, the city required a permit, which took 3 days to file after the work was completed. The company didn’t meet the city inspector after they completed their work (as they told me they would), so my tenant had to delay his move another week and I had to reimburse him for rent (or allow him to break his lease). Additionally, after the plumber completed the gas repair, he reinstalled the drywall and the cuts required some patching, which I was told could proceed so my handyman started work. 2 days later, I received an apology call from the rep stating they would need to remove the drywall again to show the inspector the work. I was livid, to say the least. The rep said they would make it right, though no such effort was ever made. We spent a little over 3K with these folks, I don’t know that we would choose to work together again.Aug 4, 2019Verified
Plumbing Drain Repair
1/14/2018 Good plumbers are hard to find in Austin - there is plenty of work, and some will take your money, leaving you with less than an ideal job or gouge the consumer for all sorts of extras. Not these guys! We just paid our invoice in full, as quoted, and are very happy with the work. Have dealt with many plumbers over the years, and these folks are straight up. They gave a competitive quote in the middle of our price range, and completed the job per the specification, which was replacing the 24' sewer line between the house and the City connection. They also pulled the permit from the City and dealt with an unusual requirement by the City at inspection time to install a back-flow preventer (a one way valve in the 4" line) which they took care of. We will use them again without hesitation. It was good to deal with a family owned business who know what they are doing, complete the job, and don't gouge you. Have attached a photo showing what a nice clean job they left, especially with all the rain during the season. Thank you Local Plumbing Service, we appreciate your good work. ----------------------------------------- 12/2018: We just let our thumbtack job to these folks and are looking forward to their work and will review when complete. Their pricing was in the middle of the bids we received, and they have been super responsive and good communicators which we appreciated.Jan 14, 2019Verified
Awesome service, very friendly, they gave me a great deal on a gas line install for my kitchen. The work was excellent quality and they let me know what was going on every step of the way, I'd recommend them again in a heartbeat.Mar 21, 2019Review from GoogleLocal Plumbing Service's reply
