I have noticed that we get a lot of referrals from existing customers and I believe it is because we take pride in our work and we are neat and clean. We love taking pictures of our work because it always looks great when we are finished. We don't settle for less. I get to meet new people every day! I have always been outgoing and have always liked meeting new people. What I like also is that every job is different. There are no two jobs the same which provides a challenge for me and my guys. We love what we do!

*** I just read the response from ACT on this job. It definitely was not me getting infuriated. ACT sent their sub-contractor, the work finished work is terrible - I never said turned out great. Once again, ACT putting words in a person's mouth. Even below I stated that the work was inferior. Bad news.*** The experience with this company was easily the most frustrating I have ever had on Thumbtack. I'm positive that I will never accept another bid from them for any kind of work. The company submitted a quote, asked for more information, address and contact. I provided. They sent out a sub contractor of theirs, had him provide the bid. The sub said it was a 2 day job, provided a competitive bid and after two weeks, the work was finally completed - substandard. We contacted ACT Concrete throughout the process and finally spoke to the owner Allen. He stated that they were 2 months backlogged and not sure how the bid was done through Thumbtack since they so busy. He was checking back with the office. He called back and told me he was sorry and he could fix the work at an additional $1,400 plus I had to "sue" or "recover" my payments already made. It was very fishy to say the least. The finished work is terrible. Worst job by any Thumbtack professional. I'm totally frustrated.

Once again... our company did not sign a contract with you and we did not hire a sub to do your work. We suggested another company because we could not get to you as we were too busy. This has nothing to do with Thumbtack or us. You hired that company not us, period. We did not receive any money from this job from you or the company that did your work. You need to take it up with that company.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We typically charge between 2.50 per square foot and 3.00 per square foot for demo of existing concrete. To pour new concrete we typically charge between 4.25 per square foot and 6.00 per square foot depending on the amount of square footage.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly looking over engineering designs and study as much as I can about new and improved concrete and cementous products.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My Brother in law and myself decided to go into business together after I moved from West Texas to here to take better care of my aging parents. I later purchased my brother in law's portion of the company.
