Unfortunately this review (our first ever bad review in 10 years on thumbtack) is the result of homeowner expectations vs reality. Request was received to fill some cracks, sight unseen (only couple pics given) quoted $300. Arrive next day as scheduled and realize the floor is older, approx 10 years old (we did not install) and has shifted (shrunk) throughout the entire home—so these are not cracks, but instead they are gaps. Explained to homeowner that the only way to fill spaces between boards is to do a full refinish, which would make the floor new again. Unable to commit to that right now, they wanted to just have some of the gaps filled with putty. Prior, they attempted this by themselves in places around the home and color was off, it was cracking, used wrong product, etc. So after explaining that this would only be a temporary cosmetic fix, them agreeing, and them knowing the entire house was in bad shape, we crawled around on the floor in only main areas for just under an hour filling gaps in the wood, impossible to hit each one, showed homeowner, we asked if all good, said yes…we took half off to be $150 since we were unable to spend what would take 2 days to do, they agreed, we left the remaining putty filler for them to use if they wanted since they attempted DIY prior, they kept. They pay, say if they decide to refinish they’ll give us a call, we leave….bad review left before calling and discussing further. We pride ourselves on communication and would never leave a homeowner disappointed (even if it were discussed about expectations). As confusing as this review is to us, since it was communicated before anything was started that it will not be the fix you’re looking for…we would hope that one would reach out next time before leaving a bad review (which he also tried to remove). We will continue to stand behind our work and continue the “5 star” pattern we’ve always had. ~Andrea Smiley
