If you're considering lessons with me, here's what you need to know:
Advice Consultation Option:
If you're unsure about starting lessons and need advice on instruments and supplies, I offer a one-hour phone consultation for $120. This fee is waived for enrolled students.
Enrollment Requirements:
To begin lessons, I require a commitment to a minimum of six lessons over three months. Sessions can be half an hour, forty-five minutes, or one hour.
Pricing:
$300 for six half-hour lessons ($318 with card payment)
$420 for six forty-five-minute lessons ($438 with card payment)
$540 for six one-hour lessons ($558 with card payment)
Lesson Rates (per session) AFTER initial minimum
Hourly: $95
45 Minutes: $75
30 Minutes: $55
If you sign up for additional lessons in increments of six after completing the initial commitment, you will continue to receive the initial package rate.
If you need fewer than six sessions after the initial commitment, the per-session rate will apply.
Rates are guaranteed for one year with continuous enrollment. However, a break longer than one month may result in a rate increase.
How to Proceed:

Communication: I guarantee timely responses to all inquiries and expect the same level of commitment. Please contact me only if you intend to follow through with communication.
Payment Information:
Before making card payments, you'll need to sign my consultation and lesson policies. Detailed policies are available upon request for Zelle or Venmo Friend to Friend payments.
Location and Lesson Options:
In-Person: Lessons are conducted at my apartment near North Star Mall in San Antonio.
Online: Available for students outside the local area.
Additional Options:
Online Technique Course: Designed for students with at least one year of experience, focusing on essential techniques with ongoing access and direct feedback.

Amy is a fantastic violin teacher. She has given my daughter techniques, fundamentals and the tools she needs to properly play and prepare for her new school year orchestra class. She is patient and very thorough with her instructions to ensure you get the techniques down right. She is obviously a brilliant violist and play’s beautifully so it was an easy decision to go with Amy.

Ms. Amy has helped me prepare for various auditions including Region Orchestra. I have made region 2 years in a row with the help of Ms. Amy. She really made me understand the importance of fine tuning and the rhythm for any piece we worked on. Ms. Amy has allowed me to gain more confidence in my playing and earn the seat of Concertmaster at my high school I attended. I was able to pay attention to every detail in a piece of music where Ms. Amy guided me in really capturing the essence of a piece. I never felt I was playing bad but rather I was encourages by Ms. Amy to take the time to slow down a piece so that I would not rush and by doing so I was improving my playing over time. Ms. Amy was flexible with my schedule which I much appreciated as I had a heavy coursework to do for school. I feel that Ms. Amy has made me a better musician and I will be able tackle any piece of music I may receive.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Initial Commitment Pricing Over Three Month Period:
$300 for six half-hour lessons ($318 with card payment)- 2 lessons/month

If you commit to additional sessions over the minimum requirement on the day you initially sign up, you will be eligible for the following package rates:

Additional Sessions booked after initial payment completed: $95 per hour, $55 per half hour, and $75 per forty five minutes
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once you express interest, I'll be happy to guide you through the steps to prepare for your first music lesson. If you decide to commit to a minimum of six lessons, I'll include my time to assist you in gathering all the necessary supplies. If scheduling six lessons isn't feasible for you, there's a $120 fee for up to one hour of my assistance over the phone to ensure you're fully prepared for your first lesson. After receiving phone advice, there's no obligation for you to choose me as your instructor, though you're always welcome to work with me when you're ready to commit to lessons.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance from the University of Michigan and received highest honors.
