FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All my cakes are custom-made and made-to-order so pricing is dependent on servings needed and design details as well as any other incidentals that are required for the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have found that the best way to provide great service to my potential clients is by getting to know them and understand the type of product they are hoping to achieve. Asking questions, using picture examples of my work and work that has been done to help illustrate the end product is the best way to fully understand what my client is looking for. At the end of the day good customer service is being attentive to your new client and existing clients. I try to be mindful of their time by responding quickly to their questions and providing them with the information that they need in a timely fashion.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my bachelor's degree in English from St Marys University so needless to say becoming a cake decorator is somewhat surprising. However having been the family Baker since I was young, it's actually not surprising at all. I took several classes at a local cake supply store and I continually look up tutorials through different web sites and YouTube to keep up with my craft. I've been doing this so long that it's not difficult for me to figure out how to do things to accomplish and master a lot of the design aesthetics asked of me by my clients.
