Joshua Jarma

I am Joshua Jarma and I love math and science! My favorite thing about teaching is watching a person move from confusion to understanding to success and I celebrate with them every step of the way. I love learning how other people learn and adapting my style to match their needs because I am confident that everyone is able to learn, we just need to find the right approach. I have been professionally tutoring since spring 2022 with students as young as middle school up through adults returning to college. My tutoring experience (aside from my younger brothers) began while I was a senior in high school when I helped teach my Academic Decathlon team in Mathematics as we made our way to the state championship. My wife and I have also been homeschooling our children for six years (they are 10 and 5 years old - both learning how to read before they were five) so I am very experienced at teaching in one-on-one settings. I’ve been certified to teach 8-12 Mathematics, am familiar with and understand STAAR testing, and have also worked as a substitute teacher including assisting with special needs children. I have a degree in Computer Science (a very math-heavy discipline) from Texas A&M.
