FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our first session might go over the regular session time of 55-60 minutes. I do not accept insurances however, am happy to print a receipt (called a Superbill) which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you prefer first to meet over the phone or in person to see if we are a good fit, please ask, and I would be happy to schedule a complimentary visit. The client/therapist relationship is of primary importance to the success of our working together.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before the first session I will send an email requesting that a few short forms be filled out. During our first session, I will listen to what brought you to therapy and how I may be helpful, so that by the time our hour is over, you have hope for the reason that brought you to therapy in the first place. We will also talk about goals for your situation. No one is 'in relationship' alone. Everyone is part of a system, so even if you come in by yourself, there will likely be eventual conversation about 'your system', be it family, work, or something else.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and completed my internship at Interface-Samaritan Counseling Centers.
