- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I routinely consult with others in the field, subscribe to the top trending magazines, and take courses as my schedule permits. As of this point, I learn more in the field with every shoot than in a book, so I focus on what my upcoming shoot is and read up on that.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I took a course in college as an elective. I liked it so much that my parents bought me my first camera. At that point I was hooked. After taking my second class, I shot some portraits for a friend, and they told me I should be doing this as a side gig. I decided it didn't sound too bad, and enrolled in a certification course with New York Institute of Photography (my current University did not offer photography as a major) and a publication and award recipient later, here I am!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Family and Wedding portraits are my bread and butter. I love kids, have 2 of my own and do a lot of children's portraits. I frequently get told, "I dont know how you do this, I could never work this well with children!" I also do alot of wedding and engagement shoots. I love it when a couple really plays well infront of the camera. My other largest group of shots is Fashion. I regularly work with several models to put out the latest and greatest in fashion, makeup, and hair. My portfolio builder package flies off the perverbial shelves!
