FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $35/hour for any type of work that I do. Quotes are difficult to estimate before assessing the situation, but I will always update you before doing more work than anticipated. I do one free hour of work for any referrals given that contact me.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After you explain to me a little what's going on by chat/email/phone, we can decide if it can be fixed remotely, on-site, or if I need to take the computer in for a bit. Once you're satisfied I'll send an invoice and that's it (unless something else comes up of course).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Tech help is still very much a self-taught industry. Technology is in every part of our lives now and it's not practical to try to learn everything in the traditional textbook format, but rather to acquire versatile skills and the confidence to learn project-by-project. Aside from some basic coding skills from college, my knowledge base comes from experience and the ability to research efficiently.
