At EM Vocal Studio, we are all about building well-rounded musicians and developing personal artistry. I specialize in contemporary voice and would love to help you! I offer a FREE 15 minute consultation so you can meet me, see the studio, and ask any questions you have. I teach in Traverse Mountain (just east of I-15 at Thanksgiving Point) Monday-Friday with spots between 1:00-8:00pm. The price is $150/month for bi-weekly lessons (an hour every other week), $300/month for weekly lessons (hour). All policy details are available on our website.
With six unique performance opportunities each year, students have regular incentives to try new things, explore different facets of their artistry, and challenge their comfort zones with new genres, new techniques and tools, and new skills in leadership, communication, presence, and performance. I have a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance (the same vocal methods used for pop, rock, folk, Broadway, etc.), and am an award-winning composer, as well. I book (and perform in) about 50 paid shows per year with my various musical projects, I teach at UVU in the Commercial Music Department, I have released two full length original albums (and have another planned for late in 2021), and I run an original podcast "Artifice," available anywhere podcasts are found. From 2015-2019 directed BYU Syncopation (12 singers, piano, bass, and drums), and taught contemporary voice as an Adjunct Professor at BYU.
I devote a great level of care for my individual students, and will do whatever I can do aid my students in achievement of their goals. I love for my students to be well-rounded, and can advise in musical excellence, as well as marketing, advertising and business productivity.
I really love working with many different types of people. It is so gratifying for me to help my students achieve their goals--both large and small. I get goosebumps when my 6-year-old students sing something amazing with their beautiful, newfound voices or play something they are proud of, and I get goosebumps when my adult students are able to draw upon their personal life-experiences to sing something truly powerful. I am equally thrilled by either case! Anytime my students are succeeding, gaining confidence, and growing in their passion for music, it is so easy for me to remember why I love what I do.
