Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I used Thumbtack to get bids from 3 people for my painting and tile project. Kelly had the lowest bid, but there were additional reasons that made me want to pick him over the others. For instance, he was very flexible with scheduling. I told him I wanted to complete the project quickly, so he offered to use multiple workers and long-days to meet our goals. He also asked detailed questions about the scope of work, which made me confident in his professional skill level. Kelly and his team were on-time, friendly, and very good at what they do. The painters used drop-clothes, but they didn't really need them because I don't remember seeing any drips. (This also means they didn't waste expensive paint). The tile in our bathrooms turned out amazing. My wife was thrilled by the new look. Kelly showed us several designs of tile layout, and we selected a brick-style. Kelly guarantees 100% satisfaction, and he means it. Any request that I made was accepted and quickly completed by his team. I highly recommend using the LandLords Lifeline for high-quality work at competitive prices. We will be using them for all of our future projects.

I was happy with his professional work. He went above and beyond on my request for the work I asked him to do. He does an excellent job, and would recommend his abilities as a handyman.

Kelly and his crew were amazing. They completed the whole job for half of what another contractor said and delivered his quote almost immediately after seeing the space (the other guy took a week). They got started the very next day, delivered more than what was expected, cleaned up after themselves and were just an absolute joy to work with all around. I highly recommend them on all fronts. A+++ it feels great to know I have a go to contractor who I can trust with future projects! Thanks Kelly!

Kelly was super easy to work with. He did a great job with the tile installation. Kelly quoted on the job without seeing it so there were a few things he couldn't anticipate but I felt he was more than fair in quickly resolving the minor setbacks. I would highly recommend Kelly for any tiling projects and will use him in the future with other home improvement projects. Thank you Kelly.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For remodel projects; 1)Establish the purpose of project . Typically 1) Restoration, damage repair, 2) General preventative maintenance , 3) Update, upgrade, or simply change the style & look, to suite customers preferance.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Training that stands out and provided highly valuable and unique experience would be the years between 2002 - 2009. Hired by a general contractor to join one of his two traveling hotel renovation crews nationwide. In those first 7 years we went from hotel to hotel visiting more states than I could list, working our way up n down the east coast from Pensacola fl. So. carolina Massachusetts, New York new Hampshire , main. Another time working our way along the southern border, after Flagstaff Phoenix, Tucson, , Albuquerque, & Santa Fe , Yuma, Sierra vista, Las cruces, fort Stockton, Austin, corpus Christi, so. Padre island. To name a couple. The owner grew up painting for his father a well known paint contractor with excellent crew. My boss , the man, myth, the legend, is beyond reach of your normal kick butt veteran painters, he has shown a whole new level to those lucky enough to see. He took the hotel renovation to an unheard of pace, with on average 12 men crew, average scope include all new flooring , every fixture, furniture , granite vanity, texture , paint , basically gut the room to the bone. Most the tubs and showers stayed that was it. We would be on a 10 room per day pace , demo 10 and turn 10 back every day, with rooms being on a 3 day turn around. The first week to sort the dozen or so packed shipping containers and work all the problems out on 20 rooms , always succeeded to 10 room per day before end of 1st week, blowing through a average 100-125 room hotel in about 15 days is remarkable as well painting exterior often. I can't explain how valuable those years were to learn intimately this framework structure format underlying complete controlled chaos, understanding the many methods in doing any part of all the trades, the preferred, efficient, th order and absolute needs where each tradesmans work overlapped into the next, and then every conceivable alternate method needed to keep everything from grinding to a halt. I oversaw the the f.f.& e as was the position that kept constant track of each room and made sure they advanced despite every problem clinging on to hold the rooms back from each phase, you can't skip a room a step and problems had to be foreseen if possible or handled like a boss without question and that means knowing how to do, solve, or fix on the spot . I can frame and cut, install 10 granite vanities including undermount the bowl , caulk and silicone in an 8 hour day no problem, I can cut and roll rooms faster than you can spray , drops or not, accent walls , ceiling cut lines so crispy you'd think were done by laser. I could go on but I feel I past that point hours ago. I spent years flipping homes , the investors gave the projects to me and I used my own guys as needed to do the work. So from counters cabinets tubs, electric. Every and all thata what I do. More recent years I'm remodeling hotels for a couple clients who I've grown with about 4.5 years now I have been doing conversions lately currently over 100 bathrooms full complete gut and remodel, I take side jobs locally, but not often, unless requested by previous customer. Occasionally take quick thumbtack leads that can be done within 1,2 or 3 days, mostly I just like to keep my eye on all the leads , as I enjoy seeing all the different requests ppl have , dont know why.. therefore my profile shows little recent activity. I have good results finding and hiring subs on this site, when I've been in a bind, the pros have worked out every single time. 😉
