Kevin came to the appointment as scheduled and showed me the carpet options. He was very nice and professional. The whole planning and payment transactions went great. They called me when the carpet arrived to schedule a time to install the carpet. I was told the installer was going to arrive that morning in between 9:00 and 11:00. At noon I had to call the office to ask about the installer who didn't show up or call. About half an hour later Carlos called saying that he couldn't come until 15:30, or we would have to reschedule. I told him he was supposed to come that morning and he acted like he didn't know. I had to be OK with the 15:30 appointment, since I already cleared my day to have the carpet installed. Carlos did an OK job. He finished within 3 hours. Everything seemed OK, but the next morning I noticed that he did a poor job around the tile in front of the fireplace. On one of the sides is not completely tucked and it looks like it was cut too short. I am afraid that when I vacuum or clean the carpet, that area is going to be a problem. I wish I could give a five star, but the company has to make clear to their installers that being punctual and doing a quality job is very important to the clients.

I originally needed carpet removal. I asked him about tile removal and he had one of his guys available. They did an amazing job. It was really hard work. They removed everything and stripped the floor, preparing it for the new material. They did the job well and for a great price. A couple of things came up we weren't expecting but their honesty and desire to make things right really made me trust them and happy. I will definitely hire again and I definitely recommend! Awesome peeps.

I hired John to wash the front windows of my house. It is amazing how fast and through he was! Even my dog walked right into the window after it was cleaned! It was honestly like the Windex commercial with the birds that fly right into the glass! Haha! I have and will continue to recommend him to others. He will be hired again for windows and I also plan to use him for carpet cleaning. Honest, good, trustworthy man. Extremely satisfied. My house looks so good!

GMX Chem-Dry did an amazing job on our carpets! We have a yorkie that started territorial marking when we had our first son almost two years ago and with another baby on the way we needed them CLEAN! Not only did they clean and sanitize them, they managed to get leather paint (!!!!) stains out of the carpet that we thought would be impossible. They went far and beyond our expectations and we are so grateful. If you're thinking about a cleaning, look no further they are the best.

I’ve had Austin with Intermountian Cleaning Concerns clean my carpets for the past 10 years. It’s always him who performs the work, and he does a fantastic job for any carpet cleaning job. We’ve been at two houses over the years, both with totally different types of carpets, and he’s brought them both back to life each time. He’s also helped us get out stains in our carpet and on our cloth couches that I never thought would come out. Seriously my 10 year old couches look brand new since he cleaned them. To top it off, he’s a great guy and easy to work with.

He has been doing my carpet cleaning for 3 years. He is very conscientious about your home and items. The value of the cleaning keeps me coming back. He does a deep clean and then 6 months later an encapsulation. This has prolonged the life of my carpet. One you make a big investment in flooring you should maintain it to get the full value. I hired Bonneville Carpet Cleaning to clean carpets throughout my house and they did a spectacular job! Understand, my house was built in 2001 and my family moved into this house in 2006. I would guarantee the carpeting was NEVER cleaned. We hired one service to clean the carpets over years and they did an ok job, but Bonneville not only made it look almost brand new, but the carpeting was dry to the touch when they left! Very personable and I will definitely use them again and again. Thanks Bonneville Carpet Cleaning.

I hired Joe to remodel my dated bathroom and also to repair sheetrock in my house. I had all the tiles, vanity, and shower removed and replaced. I was so happy with his work I asked him if he also paints. He ended up repainting my entire home. Changing the walls from beige to grey. The ceilings from grey to bright white, and doors and trim from stain to bright white. I would highly recommend him for any projects you might have. He really seems to know how to do practically anything and do it right. Thanks Joe great job!

Our office carpets was heavy stained with tracks of grease from our service technicians walking through from our shop. Upon the recommendation of another carpet cleaning company we were getting ready to replace the carpets. We decided to try Heavenbest Carpet cleaning services before doing so and was amazed at the results! Not only was Craig able to get the grease stains out but the carpets look brand-new saving us hundreds of dollars and his price was less expensive than our previous cleaner! We were very please with his professionalism and the results and would definitely recommend him!

Phillip Romero is the most talented handyman I have ever employed, from paint to new lighting fixtures to floor tile this guy is outstanding. I employed him to replace my old carpet with stone tile which turned out perfect. My friends and family rave about the work he has done. That was two weeks ago as I've retained him to paint, change old fixtures, get my electrical outlets working again, stain the old wood fireplace and add a couple of closets etc. Phillip does 5 star quality work, everything he has done for me is top of the line. He has even suggested some things I never thought about that really has improved the look and comfort of my home. the best part is he is honest to a fault, I can leave my house all day while he's working and feel totally comfortable. He is also very reasonable with his prices which is pretty refreshing in this day and age. You will not have to take out a loan for his services!. If you are looking for someone to remodel your entire house or just change a ceiling fan look no further, this guy is the best. If It weren't for a lack of privacy I would post my phone number and you could talk to me directly he is that good. I promise you, you will not regret having Phillip help you with whatever home improvement project you might have. Sincerely, Benjamin Draper Utah 84020

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

    Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much is the cheapest carpet?

If you’re looking to reduce carpet installation costs, there are several ways to save. Start by considering your carpeting needs. Manufactured materials such as polyester and nylon will be cheaper than natural fibers such as wool. From big box retailers, starting prices for olefin-based carpet are approximately 50 cents per square foot — making the cost under $5 per square yard. Indoor carpets made with olefin fibers are typically the least expensive on the market. Keep in mind that olefin fibers are not as soft on bare feet as other fibers, so are often used in areas like basements, playrooms or indoor patios. Nylon and polyester are good options to reduce carpet installation costs while still creating a cozy feel. The face weight, fiber construction and density of a carpet all affect the cost per square foot. The cheapest nylon or polyester carpets can start at just under $2 per square foot, making them about $18 per square yard. Lower-cost carpet tends to wear out more quickly and show stains more easily, so avoid light colors and vacuum regularly to keep the fibers clear of dirt that might age it too quickly.

How much does it cost to install carpet?

If you’re ready to bring new life into your house with a makeover from the ground up, you’re ready to learn more about carpet installation costs. Installation costs vary greatly, depending on a number of factors such as the type of carpet, the number of square yards, any necessary repair work, the number of stairs you have, and where you live. Due to these variables, the national average cost of carpet installation ranges between $200 and $4,500.

To start planning for your new carpet, measure roughly how many square yards of carpet you’ll need. Research the main carpet styles and materials you like to get a feel for what they cost. Nylon carpets are typically the least expensive, and wool is one of the higher-end carpets. Prices per square foot might range from under $2 to over $10, depending on materials. Count the number of stairs you want carpeted; each one might average between $3 and $10 (or more for box steps). Carpet removal can be an added cost as well, averaging $1-$4 per square yard, depending on the company and regional disposal costs.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.
