FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is $375/hr, which includes local travel, a session fee, and digital copies of the best photos from the session. I also love doing mini-sessions of 20-30 minutes, which allows some room to fit the client's budget without wearing out wiggly kids too quickly. I announce giveaways and periodic discounts on Instagram, so follow me there! @emilystewart.photo
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my BFA in Photography from Brigham Young University after completing a diverse and competitive program. In addition to extensive digital photography training, I have traditional darkroom and professional film lab processing experience that gives me the ability to incorporate medium format film into my sessions. It's a foundation that gives me a deeper understanding of photography as a whole and translates into timeless, professional imagery.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first discovered photography in the black and white darkroom of my high school and knew then that I never wanted to leave it. Creating images with traditional film and historical processes is a love that I keep coming back to - there's just something about the craftsmanship that slows you down, makes you more intentional, and connects you to your work. I enjoy working in both digital and film mediums to benefit from both of their strengths.
