Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I'm one of a few members of WealthCounsel in Utah. WealthCounsel is a professional association of estate planning attorneys from around the country. Our practices are dedicated to the craft of helping families reduce taxes and pass their wealth to whomever they please. This dedication to estate planning professionalism sets us apart. For families with minor children, we take care to not only name permanent guardians for these children in the event the unthinkable happens to their parents, but also temporary guardians so that if the permanent guardians are not immediately available the state doesn't have to take the children into temporary custody. This extra step also sets our service apart. I love working with families. I love knowing that my day has been filled serving my clients and their children. I went to law school so I could make a difference in the world. I left the litigation side of practicing law because I didn't feel like I was contributing anything meaningful. The work I do now is meaningful and will last for generations. That gives me enormous satisfaction.

Brent RIpley is a top-notch estate planner. I and my wife have worked with him for several years and are thoroughly pleased with his advice and management of our estate. Our estate is quite complicated and Brent has admirably helped us over the hurdles that deal with a blended family, complicated wills and multiple trusts. We would highly recommend Brent to others.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My estate plan pricing is not complicated, it's very simple. I work almost exclusively on a flat fee basis - I rarely bill by the hour, and never for basic estate planning. I have a fixed pricing schedule that accounts for estates of all sizes, from small estates to multi-million dollar estates. You don't hire me until we both agree on a fair fee for the work that needs to be done.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You should look for someone who is dedicated to the area of law you need help in. Jack-of-all-trade types (those who may do a divorce, a personal injury case and an estate planning case all in the same day) are usually not the best choice for you. Would you go to a foot doctor if you needed heart surgery? Or vice versa? No.
