FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My session rate is $135 per 50-minute session; although I'm new to the area and rebuilding my practice so give me a reasonable price and I'm sure we can work something out!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to schedule a consultation so potential clients can come and visit with me and determine for themselves if I'll be a good fit. I typically explain the risks and benefits of counseling, the need for informed consent, confidentiality, its limits, an explaination of HIPPA and I also go over any financial concerns. I like to understand if previous counseling has occured so that those things that were beneficial may be utilized again, as well as understanding what things to avoid as a therapist if previous therapy was not beneficial. No need to hit repeat on a negative experience. After addressing these items, I like to get an understanding of what is bringing in the individual or couple to counseling, so that goals and a direction may be established for working together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling. I spent much of my training with high risk clients. I've gained first hand experience and training in crisis counseling, trauma counseling, etc.
