FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Illustration Services Pricing Please note; It is not economically feasible for me to create any work prior to an initial down payment. The *typical* price per illustration can range from $100 to $600. To explain better, I will provide some examples of the low, average, and premium cost illustrations. I have labeled most of the illustrations I have uploaded to this Thumbtack profile low, average, or premium range illustrations to provide visual examples of the cost categories I refer to here. This type of illustration is a good example for the low-end of the cost scale being around the $100 range. This illustration is not color and has only one subject. It also only deals in lines to define the subject. This type of illustration is a good example for the mid-range of the cost scale being around $250 to $300. This full color illustration has one subject with few elements and a blank background. This type of illustration is a good example for the premium range of the cost scale being around $500 to $600. This full color illustration has many subjects and multiple background elements and layers. *Typical - means there are exceptions that are outside of the normal such as larger format illustrations as one of many exception examples.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All illustration projects start out with a free consultation of the client's choice of format upon which the expectations and general illustration needs of the client are outlined. It's always helpful to have as much visual reference as possible to describe the nature of the desired illustration. Once there is sufficient direction and understanding about the illustrations goals from the client, a concept sketch is created and provided. The concept is provided to have a visual to base any needed corrections on and direct alterations. Once the concept has been approved, work on the final illustration begins. Reviews are possible and likely through this process depending on the length of the project. No work is considered complete until the client has approved it as completed with 100% satisfaction. I do not like to put a number on revisions as client satisfaction is my number one priority but just know and understand that all efforts will be put into full force to reduce the need for revisions. This could include concept work, visual references provided by myself or the client, good communications, and being certain that I possess a solid understanding of the client's vision.
