We hired Amber to walk our dog while we were out of town for 4 days. Before leaving things were great, she was prompt, communicated well, and came by to do a walk through and meet our pup. We set a 2 hour time frame and explained her primary care taker would be leaving at 6:30 am so it was really important she was there before 1 pm so our dog didn’t stay inside with no bathroom breaks for 7 hours. We left our dog with a trusted friend who was home the first day to give Amber a key. She didn’t show. She didn’t text, call, anything. I sent her a message letting her know I was extremely concerned. All of sudden, she showed up hours late, and I received a text after the walk was over saying things went well. If our friend had not been there our dog would have waited 9 hours to go to the bathroom. If I would have received a, “I am so sorry there was an emergency something came up and I will be there as soon as I can.” Would have made me feel 10 times better, but there was nothing beforehand. Instead she acted like nothing happened and I had to bring it up for her to apologize. Even when I reached out she didn’t respond saying she was on her way or just got there. She said she stayed an extra 15 minutes one of the days to make up for it, but no one was there so who actually knows. The next 2 days she showed up right at the 1 pm deadline or a 15 minutes after and had the audacity to tell me, “funny story your dog almost got ran over by a semi truck” one of the days. I’m sorry, but nothing about that is funny when I already don’t trust you with my dog. The last day she showed up at noon in the requested time frame. Our dog is fine but I would not trust Amber to walk our dog again.Mar 2, 2020VerifiedVet Tech Pet Sitting, LLC's reply
I am sad to hear such horrific things about me especially when a lot of this is exaggerated. Jesse I apologize for not being the dog walker that you wanted but Please do not slander my name When some of these things aren't all the way true. If you did not trust me with your dog then why did you allow me to walk her after the 1st visit that you were supposedly so upset about. We both had communication issues Which would have helped with the situation. When I met with you I told you before I left that I always gave the update and pictures after The Visit was over. Yes I was late on the 1st visit but it was only an hour late. I did attempt to call you And let you know I was going to be late. I don't know why you didn't get it maybe because you were out of the country or didn't have service.Every time I tried to call you never answered the phone the whole week and when I would send you updates and text messages I only received messages back on the 1st day. Again I ask you if you would like me to let you know that I was there at the beginning or just send you the updates with the pictures at the end and you said it didn't matter. So I did it at the end as I always do. The time frame that I asked for within a 2 hour window meant I would show up between 11 and 1 which I explained at the consultation. I did the other 3 visits. I have my mileage tracker to prove what time I got there If you would like to see it. Concerning the semi truck incident I apologize for lack of a better word using funny story but you did not inform me that your Rona chases after vehicles. That would have been privy to know for her walks. I did not say she almost got run over I said she bolted for the street and luckily I had a good ahold of her and she did not make it past the gutter. When meeting with you I should have asked if she pulls on the leash because we do not normally walk pets that pull due to complications that may happen. Our worst fear is to lose a dog or have a pet injured while on duty. So as much detail about the pets is very much needed. I was honestly trying to make light of a situation that scared Me but I did not explain that in the message and I apologize for that as well I didn't realize that there was going to be personality or communication conflicts. I did not receive any correspondence from you about the updates I sent except the first 2 days. So how am I to know something wasn't to your standards of what you wanted. I Even left you notes for your friends staying at the house letting them know what I had done that day and if she had gone to the bathroom. Over all Rona is a great dog very active playful and a little wild. I really liked her. I will take this negative feedback and make something positive out of it by improving and Striving for better communication. if Thank you again for being honest on your perspective of how it went.
Amber has sat with our dogs and cats for years now. Whether we have asked her to do drop by visits and feedings or dog walks, she has always done excellent work with our pets. I have a big lab/pit mix who is sweet but a bit of a handful when he sees other big dogs. Amber is pretty much the only person I trust to keep him out of trouble as well as keep him happy and well-walked. She's fantastic!Feb 17, 2014
Amber is professional and has knowledge about how to handle my "exuberant " black labs! She also thinks about things like running the dogs through snow when they are muddy or cleaning them up with a towel. She is excellent!Mar 9, 2017Verified

Amber was great! She was willing to cater to whatever needs I wanted and was very quick to respond. She even cleaned up the poop when I told her she didn't need to! My dogs seemed very satisfied and played with when I came home.Aug 8, 2018Verified
