About
Hello! My name is Treyan. I offer a free introductory lesson in which I demonstrate the unique method that I teach, and how it is different from all other teaching styles. I teach piano, but with an emphasis on improvisation, arrangement, and songwriting, using theory as the foundation. This teaching method gives the student a thorough understanding of musical theory, while at the same time allowing them to learn in a very creative environment. Let me know if you have any questions or are interested in a free intro lesson. Cheers!

I am so happy to have found Treyan as a piano teacher! He is not only knowledgeable but also fun and inspiring. He’s helping me understand not just music theory, but how it’s actually applied in practice. As an adult with years of classical training who took a 20-year break from studying music, I now want to learn how to jam, play jazz and blues, and truly play from the heart. He has a very wide range of talent and spans across all genres. I highly recommend him if you are looking for some inspiration to improve your piano playing skills!!.

Taking lessons under Treyan, I have seen my piano skills and theoretical understanding improve already more from being with him for now 4 months versus my years and years of pianolessons growing up. He is knowledgable in all genres, and does a really good job of helping me understand not only the how, but the why behind chords resolve, are altered, or chord progressions follow a specific pattern. Worth every penny without a doubt.

I took lessons from my grandma as a young kid, and hadn't had a lesson in over 20 years when I started to look for a teacher. I was a little a anxious about being able to find a teacher I liked that would also be able to teach me the things I wanted to learn, but it became clear from the very first lesson that Treyan easily had all of the bases covered and more. I haven't asked a question yet that he didn't immediately have answers for. Not only does he have tons of knowledge, but he also has the skill to demonstrate everything I asked about with a high degree of proficiency. From beginner concepts to advanced theory and songwriting, Treyan has it all. You will absolutely not be disappointed if you choose to pick up Treyan as your piano teacher.

Treyan has helped me so much in only a few lessons. I couldn't stay with him for long, maybe 5 or 6 lessons total, because I am moving but I would definitely continue learning from him if I weren't.
I have a strong hatred of sightreading and he worked around that. I was using both hands to play by the second lesson and can play one of my favorite songs. The resources he gives allow you to figure thing out on your own even if it's not a song you are working on with him. Hes a great pianist and super encouraging. I would recommend him to anyonewhether they are starting out or well into their piano journey.
