Spencer was an absolute joy to have around and clean our ducts and dryer vent! He was so great and informative and helpful. I plan on having him come back and clean our grout/tile as well. Thanks, Spencer!

Cleaners were late and took longer than expected. It caused a tenant to be late to work and a delay in payment. Otherwise, good communication.

Oscar was very thorough in his work. We had stains that needed to be worked on and our carpet needed a good thorough cleaning. I didn't want to overspend as we are planning to replace the carpet in the next 6 months. He also cleaned a couch and loveseat and they looked so fresh after he was done. Our carpet wasn't left with a wet smell after (as we have had in the past with other cleaners). We will definitely be hiring Oscar again! Thank you!

John is a hardworking professional that did a great job on my grout. He worked hard until everything looked just right! I would recommend John for tile and grout cleaning/sealing. He was very flexible with schedules and worked around painters who were onsite at the same time. Great job!

We were extremely pleased with Dan and his great work. We had a big cleaning project getting a grungy house ready to sell. Dan did the following work for us: Washed the windows inside and out. Power washed the exterior of the house. Washed walls and baseboards inside the house. Cleaned a phenomenally dirty bathroom. Shared equipment and materials. This was a situation where we needed a lot of help at the last minute. I posted my request on Friday for help needed the next day (Saturday). Dan responded within an hour, I believe, and was ready for Saturday. There were many of us at the house working to get things done, and he was very willing to work around us, thought I am sure there were times where our work was in his way a bit. He worked hard and didn't stop. He was energetic and enthusiastic about getting the best possible results. For example, when, after using his usual methods for scrubbing at a bathtub caked with years of grime and dirt, the results were not good enough, he found a creative solution by bringing the power-washer through the bathroom window. It did the job. The bathroom was old and decrepit, so the power washer did chip at a small section of tile, which was too bad, but Dan's creativity and work really improved the bathroom by leaps and bounds. He knew all the tricks. He washed the exterior siding ingeniously with common household products you'd never think to use, but these, combined with the power washer, made the siding really look good. The interior walls hadn't been washed in probably years, and there were dirty marks everywhere, especially around doorknobs, light switches, etc. The walls looked great after Dan energetically attacked them. The windows sparkled -- this man knows how to clean a window. One other really nice thing about working with Dan was that he was so giving. While he worked, he offered to lend us his other tools, one of which was a power grout cleaner. My sister practically wore the head right off using it, but he didn't mind and didn't charge us for the part even though we offered. He left us with a bunch of good cleaning solution for cleaning some hardwood floors (which we weren't ready to do at that time yet). This was very generous of him. Dan was on the project for 8 hours, and I never saw him stop (though he said he'd had a sandwich somewhere in there). The cost was $525, which included some money for travel (we were well over an hour away from his home). This was a bit higher than other bids we received, but it was worth it for Dan and his great tools and commitment. We would have had to rent a power-washer and grout cleaner, but he has everything needed to get the job done. We were so glad we hired Dan.

I was able to use GMX Chem-Dry on my most recent carpet cleaning. Everyone was great, friendly, and knowledgable! The carpets turned out amazing! There were multiple urine spots from previous spots and the smell is gone! My husband has allergies and we can smell the difference as well! But, mostly we noticed the small details that we were not expecting; from cleaning the baseboards to dusting they exceeded my expectations! Thank you!!

This job entailed removal of tile, linoleum and underneath that a lovely display of a zillion staples. The ask was to help us remove the rest of the flooring which we'd spent 2 days on, and lay down the tile we'd purchased. Mike and Alex were prompt, extremely friendly and offered knowledgeable advice and guidance through the process. The end result is a beautiful new tile floor with stone transition that is the foundation for all the other work we need to have done. Thanks Mike! Thanks Alex!

They were clean and tidy looking and nice to work with. They got the carpets clean, including pet spots and some unknown stains. Two couches looked amazingly refreshed after their upholstery cleaning. My tile grout looked brand new after Bravo cleaned it!

Over the past few years I have used multiple cleaners and Nazalyn has by far been the best! I love how sweet and friendly she is when she enters my home and I always feel like my house is truly clean when she leaves! Unlike other cleaners in the past that just make it seem “clean” she really makes sure that it’s done right. For anyone looking for a good cleaner without a doubt I recommend her!

Our office carpets was heavy stained with tracks of grease from our service technicians walking through from our shop. Upon the recommendation of another carpet cleaning company we were getting ready to replace the carpets. We decided to try Heavenbest Carpet cleaning services before doing so and was amazed at the results! Not only was Craig able to get the grease stains out but the carpets look brand-new saving us hundreds of dollars and his price was less expensive than our previous cleaner! We were very please with his professionalism and the results and would definitely recommend him!

Nate is awesome! So they not only gave me the best price (I just chose to pay a higher tip because of their work) but they worked very hard! I needed my house to be cleaned, so they made time in the late evening and cleaned for hours all the way up to midnight! Did a great job at the end of it! Would definitely recommend!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
