FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The back bone of every great musician is the private teacher! A student can only learn so much on their own or in a school orchestra. All students are dramatically different! The old ways of teaching had to be reexamined. Every student has to have a lesson that challenges their weaknesses and allows their strengths to be recognized but not pandered to. Part of my goal as a teacher is helping the student become a balanced musician: able to play by ear, read music, hear rhythm and even learn music theory and composition. I also believe strongly that Suzuki is a wonderful base for teaching but students must have the chance to play all types of music. From Celtic to Pop to Fiddle as far as you imagination can take you. Allowing the student to stay involved and excited about practicing and performing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching for 15+, performing for a life time. And have 2 BA in Jazz and Classical Preformance.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with students from all walks of life. Teaching a broad group of students with special needs to grandmothers of 5. I believe every student is different and every lesson should be tailored to the students needs.
