Brandon Kitterman Guitar Studio

Brandon has been providing quality instruction on guitar, bass, and music theory for over 20 years in the Northern Utah area. He has extensive experience in rock and pop music, along with a bachelor’s degree in classical guitar performance. He teaches most styles and age groups and employs an approachable and practical educational format. He emphasizes repertoire, technique, and ear training. Other commonly requested subjects he loves to teach are music theory and improvisation. Brandon is an industry professional, and has played and recorded with many groups and projects. Most notably he and his band Fictionist were featured in Rolling Stone magazine and signed to Atlantic Records (think Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, The Rolling Stones, etc.). They have toured and played shows nationally with the likes of Neon Trees, Mates of State, Robert DeLong, Imagine Dragons, Walk the Moon, and Vampire Weekend. Brandon's teaching philosophy revolves around making the learning process fun and engaging. Students play songs they want to learn, receiving custom transcriptions and clear instructions on execution. Students will also study technical exercises (such as scales, arpeggios, chord forms, etc.) to increase their abilities, and will develop aural skills, learning to transcribe music on their own. Brandon cares deeply for his students and is committed to helping students achieve their goals, whether those be simply developing a creative hobby, learning to jam with friends, or developing a professional career.
