My mom told her interior designer that I approve of her cabinet maker, and then noted “and coming from Shaun, that says a lot.”
It does say a lot. I’m a “Best of Show” woodworker who since college hasn’t done much with woodworking, but a fine artist and very picky. I’m not easily pleased and prefer to do work to have it done right, as even many professionals I’ve found disappointment in.
Michael has proved to be a guy I would relish to have around in my own creative circles, and if I ever did custom home or furniture building, I’d want him close to collaborate and perhaps be part? Why? He’s got the passion and the love for quality, fine craftsmanship, wieshmanship. He’s an artist and his love of his craft make him a rare find. In due course, he’ll cost a lot of money for his expertise in creating beautiful things with wood.
As I work on this kitchen remodel for my mom, he’s right there open to amazing ideas and has collaborated on great design points. My mother loves the lazy Suzan cabinets that make much better use of space than the 1964 constructed cabinets now being replaced.
Micheal is perfectionistic and likes a high quality end result. I appreciate that much, and value him highly as someone to consult with on design and woodwork.
