FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the project details and scope of job, we will decide whether to charge by the hour , a day rate fee, by the square foot or set a fixed price. There is a separate charge for materials and equipment rentals with possible travel time charge, design sketching and sample boards, this all depends on your unique project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will ask my customer for a basic overview of the project vision, timeline, budget restrictions and goal. Depending on the project description, I will ask more detailed questions and if I think necessary, I will either do a follow up virtual tour of space or go on site to make sure I am clear on the project goal, i.e., measurements, lighting in space, etc. From there, I will discuss whether I feel design sketches and sample boards are required, and if so, I will share the cost of this service upfront prior to the quote estimate. After this process is completed, I will schedule the clearly defined job overview and deposit amount to start the job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from VCU art school with a BFA in 1990; I was an exhibiting metalsmith/jewelry artist for many years, whilst raising my family and working professionally as a faux decorative painter, art gallery director, luxury furniture sales and interior designer, independent design consultant for the past 30 years.
