About
A former guitar and bass student of Alexandria Music Co., Jason is now a teacher! A founding member of local band 'Diacritical,' which was featured in Newsweek and Rolling Stone magazines, Jason has been a musician and teacher for ten years while studying music theory at NVCC. His experiences as a student, touring and studio musician, and now teacher grant him the gift of sharing his passion for music to the next generation. Having taught both classroom and individual lessons, Jason is comfortable in all settings and ages, with focuses on: Composition, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Fusion, and slap bass techniques. As a natural people person and having an inclination for teaching and bridging ideas, I love being able to share ideas, concepts, and my passion with those that are eager and excited to learn! Being able to pass on my knowledge and gift to others is what keeps me coming back and what makes teaching so rewarding.

Jason's a great and patient instructor and in general, a fun guy to talk music with. He's got talent but never lets that get in the way of putting the needs of his student first. Whatever you want to learn, he'll teach you, and he'll go as slowly or quickly as you like. What more could you ask for? Highly recommend!

Jason taught my guitar class over a six or seven week class period, and he did great. I started out pretty much as a beginner with little experience, but by the time I was done, I was doing many different rifts, chords and scales. Fun teacher. Highly recommended!

Jason taught my 11-year-old beginning and intermediate guitar. She really enjoyed the lessons and learned quickly. Jason is a fun and dedicated instructor and we plan to sign up again for lessons soon.
